Weekend: Lulu Trip, Sushi, Yoga & Movies

Happy Monday! I hope the week is off to a great start for everyone. I got to sleep until 7:30 this morning so I am feeling pretty amazing after almost 9 hours of sleep. The rest of the week won’t be so kind with 5:30 and 6 a.m. clients to I took advantage while I could!

As I mentioned in last night’s post, I had a really great weekend! Here are some photo highlights…

1.24sushi

Friday sushi lunch.

1.24soy

Which was all great until I dropped the bottle of soy sauce and it shattered all over the floor. This is seriously the story of my life. I am so clumsy. My yoga classes come with warnings, “Your teacher may kick you or bump into you.” Ha. 🙂

1.24cookie

I needed a cookie after that. I picked up a sugar cookie with frosting from Whole Foods and all was well in my world again.

1.24movie

Friday night was spent with the teacher trainees watching the yoga documentary Enlighten Up. I highly, highly recommend watching this if you are at all into yoga or wondering what all this yoga stuff is about. The documentary follows this guy who has no previous yoga experience all over the world as he experiences different types of yoga and different teachers. It’s entertaining, educational and really easy to watch. And yes…we had a little wine and apps spread going while we movie watched. Love our studio.

1.25lulu

On Saturday morning I treated myself to a little Lululemon shopping trip after I taught a hot yoga class. I saw these blue Wunder Unders in last week’s product notification email and knew I had to have them! Three of the five things I got were on sale + I get an ambassador discount so it was a good haul!

1.25lulu2

I haven’t taken this hoodie off since purchasing it on Saturday. It’s the Runaway Fleece and it’s on final sale for just $69 right now so check it out quickly! The hoodie is really cozy and my favorite features are the wide waistband, the roomy hood and the thumbholes on the sleeves that also have pullover mittens that Lulu calls “cuffins.” Perfect for this cold weather we’re having in Carolina this winter. And do we even need to talk about the blue Wunder Unders? Those were a no-brainer and the bonus is that they’re reversible to black.

1.25steaksalad

I had one of the best salads that I’ve eaten in months over the weekend. Kale, spinach, arugula, rare steak, golden beets, yellow tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, dried cranberries and glazed pecans with balsamic. SO GOOD!

1.26tt

Many hours spent circled up with teacher trainees.

her

To finish up this post, I saw the movie Her this weekend. It was disturbing and really sad. If you’re unfamiliar with the plot, Joaquin Phoenix’s character plays a writer who falls in love with his operating system that has been specially constructed for him and his needs. I must have said, “this is so weird” at least 25 times throughout the movie but the end was the real gut wrencher. Ugh, still thinking about it. Has anyone else seen this movie? What did you think?

That’s all I’ve got for now! Hope it was a good weekend for you too.

Did you watch any movies this weekend? What was the best thing you ate?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
