Updates, Big News & Winner

It’s only noon but I’ve been going since 5 a.m. Three clients trained, 150 burpees done, yoga practice and shower. I’m happy to be sitting down in front of the computer for a bit!

Today I have several updates for you, some big news and the Yogi Clothing giveaway winner.

SNOW!

1.30sullie

It did snow in Charlotte which in turn shut down the city. Kids have been out of school for two days.

My 6:30 a.m. class at Y2 on Wednesday was a go and I had seven brave yogis come to class…in comparison we had nearly 40 last week! I appreciated their energy and did the best I could to warm them up and get them sweaty. 🙂

JEWELRY

1.30erin

I stopped by to visit Erin McDermott to pick up my January Luxe Box item. It’s such a treat to get a new piece of jewelry each month. I kept it simple this month with a single strand of wooden beads. It’s a great “go with anything/layering” piece.

Head’s up, Erin does weekly flash sales on Thursday and today she’s featuring her Hadley Necklace at a 40% discount! I’ve been working with Erin for almost two years now and love her and her work so much! She’s incredibly talented!

GIRLS

1.30fire

I just started watching the HBO series Girls because I have watched everything else…House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad, Homeland, Game of Thrones, Scandal…running out of shows! I’m only a few episodes in and it’s definitely different! Thoughts on it or recommendations for other series you enjoy?

NEWS

1.30plank600

I’m writing a book! This has been in the works for several months but I’m really excited to share that it’s a go! I was approached by an editor about a fitness book and worked with her to put together a proposal…and it was accepted by the publisher!!! I just signed the contract last week and it’s really happening. The next few months of my life will be dedicated to writing a book focused on core training. It won’t release until Spring 2015 but I can’t believe that I’ll be a published author.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Big Bear Peaks + Pines Race Recap (3-Day Stage Race, My First 50k)

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
