It has been the most beautiful weekend here in Charlotte. Blue skies and 70+ degrees. Happy! It was so nice to have a weekend at home for the first time in several weeks. I spent my time catching up, running errands, working around the house and teaching. I can’t wait to share my ALDI trip with you (look out for that post Monday AM!) but here’s a look at the weekend for now.

I kicked off the weekend early with a glass of sangria at lunch on Friday. We wrapped up our ALDI work and had a few hours to spare before heading to the airport so we grabbed lunch and wandered around Geneva, Illinois. This might be the best sangria I have EVER had. It was that good.
I taught two classes at Om Yoga on Saturday morning and then came home for lunch and to get ready to go out furniture shopping.
I’m trying to figure out what to do with my living room set up. I currently have a couch, area rug and coffee table but no other seating. I either need to add a set of chairs to my current set up (chairs are SO expensive…ugh!) or just start over again with a whole new set and sell the couch I have. All things furniture selection and decorating completely overwhelm me.
I came across this lovely giant snake decor while I was shopping. Who wouldn’t want this in their house?
I needed some frozen yogurt to power me through multiple furniture store stops.
And yoga to unwind after.
Speaking of yoga, check out these amazing new pants that I picked up at Om Yoga on Saturday morning. The owner of the studio is from Brazil and she brought back a bunch of really fun pants. These are so soft and comfy. I wore them to teach my 9:15 a.m. class today at Y2. It was so nice to be back with my yogis after two Sundays away. Favorite class of the week!
I trained a client this afternoon and put together a wardrobe proposal for my book. We’re starting photography this week. Craziness!
Off for a little run. I’m SO EXCITED that it’s going to stay light longer now. It is the best thing ever to leave work at the end of a long day and still have daylight hours to enjoy.
Any weekend splurges to share? All I have to say is that it’s been way too long since I’ve had frozen yogurt.

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
