Friday I’m In Love…

This is the happiest kind of Friday of them all…a long weekend Friday!

Although I’m not traveling anywhere, I’m hoping to make the above photo a reality. My grand plans for the weekend include sleeping, pool time with friends, movies and just hanging out at home. Sounds like the perfect stay-cation to me!

Here are a few things that I’m loving on this Friday!

Which Wich. I got that sandwich I wanted yesterday for lunch. (And was right back to salad again today…old habits die hard! :)) Can we talk about how they’re able to neatly fit unlimited toppings into one sandwich? It’s impressive and they never make a mess.

These new bracelets from Erin McDermott. I am all about the layering of the bracelets lately so I’m happy to have these great pieces to add to my growing collection.

paywhatyoucan

It’s Danielle LaPorte’s fifth annual “Pay What You Can” weekend and she’s offering name your own price for  The Desire Map. As you all know, I am a huge fan of The Fire Starter Sessions but I’ve yet to complete The Desire Map. With a birthday coming up and constant evaluation of goals and growth, I think it’s time.

Colored yoga pants. For years I avoided this trend and then gave in and purchased these blue Lululemon Wunder Unders. I’ve since got them in neon yellow and bright pink. They’re actually super fun to wear and make me feel a little brighter and more energetic. And I receive endless comments on them every time I wear them. Side note…I took these photos goofing off at a friend’s house on her tree swing last week.

Finally, my Audible app. I have all but quit listening to the radio save for NPR when Morning Edition or All Things Considered are on. All other times I listen to e-books. I’m currently listening to Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In. I know the book has received mixed reviews but overall I really like the message. Since a young age I have always felt very career driven and grew up in a household where that was encouraged by both my mother and father. I literally used to tell people that I wanted to be an international businesswoman and travel the world in a suit kicking ass. Although I have found a very different career path than international business, I am equally as driven to do it. And I’m sometimes criticized for that drive. Admittedly, I’m not quite ready to add the family piece into the equation so work encompasses a lot of my time and focus, but I do have a desire to do so at some point in the future. When that time comes there will definitely be a reevaluation of balance and priorities but I know that I will always do the work I do in some capacity. I just love it so much. Tying that back into Lean In, I appreciate Sheryl Sandberg’s belief that you can have it all.

And that’s all! Off to train one more client and then weekend time!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
