The Target Vortex

Hey, hey! My day started off super busy with a training client at 5:30 a.m., teaching yoga at 6:30, a skin appointment at 9 and then another training client at 10 but it’s been smooth sailing after I knocked all of that out. No more classes or clients for the day. I’m appreciative for an afternoon off! I met a friend for lunch at Zoe’s and then decided to stop by Target for a few toiletries.

The next thing I knew…

5.28target.jpg

I had been there for 45 minutes and hadn’t made it anywhere but the women’s fitting room. I also hit up the home section pretty hard and replaced things like runners, rugs and doormats.

Target actually had a lot of great stuff today so I thought I would share! I’ll start with the home stuff.

5.28doormat.jpg

A new door mat. I was in desperate need. I can’t find the link to this one online.

5.28runner.jpg

A runner. I threw my last one from Ikea away because it was so worn down. I find I have to replace these a lot with all the dog/people traffic they get. This is the Maples Fretwork Rug.

5.28kitchenrug.jpg

I also got two new accent rugs for the kitchen in the same pattern to go in front of the stove and the sink. This is the Threshold Floral Bell Rug. I can’t decide whether it’s a keeper or a returner. Thoughts?

5.28placemat.jpg

Placemats. I feel like I have to change these up a lot because of all the food photography I do. Things start to look repetitive. This is the Threshold Floral Printed Placemat.

Now, onto the fun stuff. Clothes! I’m so not a shopper so a little Target shopping spree is a big deal for me.

5.28shortshorts.jpg

I love everything about these shorts…the fit, the length and the color. And they were a steal at just $19.99. I’m going to go back for more! These are the Mossimo Supply Co. Short Shorts.

5.28top.jpg

This is the Mossimo Supply Co. Lace Trim Tank. It comes in several different patterns and colors.

5.28tank.jpg

I love, love, love this loose, soft and comfortable tank. So much that I got it in three colors! Coral, black and white. I am going to wear these all summer long around the house, at yoga, running errands, etc. Just $10 a piece! It’s the Mossimo Supply Co. Racerback Tank.

5.28straplessdress.jpg

This dress is really soft and cozy. I don’t do much strapless anymore but I thought this would be a great dress to throw on after workouts or yoga to go meet with friends for drinks or brunch. This is the Mossimo Supply Co. Strapless Dress and it’s on sale right now for $15!

5.28tealdress.jpg

Last is this scoop neck pocket dress but it’s not listed online anymore so no link. It has a fun little cut out in the back.

And then after all this shopping I finally made my way over to the toiletries aisle where I purchased vitamins and eye drops. Someone please ban me from going to Target.

Does anyone else get sucked into the Target vortex?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
