Lately: Pumpkin, Yoga & Game Day

Happy Saturday!

9.13game

After a nearly hour and a half weather delay, I’m parked on the couch cheering on the Dawgs! It’s game day and it’s always a stressful game when we’re playing South Carolina. I wore myself earlier today so couch time is welcome. I did my long run early this morning, taught hot yoga, trained a client and then cleaned my entire house. It was in serious need!

Here’s a glimpse of life lately…

9.13coffee

I finally broke down and ate my first pumpkin baked good and drank my first pumpkin beer. This pumpkin apple muffin from Sunflour was pretty amazing. I’m still not ready for fall and pumpkin but I am taking baby steps.

9.13heist

And I had a dark and delicious pumpkin beer at Heist Brewery earlier in the week.

9.13malasana

I’ve been teaching a lot of yoga. My classes at Om Yoga have been extra special lately. I had a full house on Friday for my lunch class.

9.13yogis

And I had my Saturday morning hot class partner up for ab work today. Love this studio and these yogis. Head’s up local readers…if you’re interested in teacher training Maria Lages (owner of the studio) and Johnna Smith (who I did my teacher training with) are partnering up to hold Om Yoga’s first teacher training. It starts in January. If you’re interested in doing your 200-hour…this is going to be good! 🙂 And remember, you don’t have to want to teach to do teacher training…you just have to be ready for transformation and deepening your yoga practice. Please email me if you have any questions!

9.13tanks

I attended the grand opening of Tank’s Tap on Friday night. The owner of our gym partnered with another woman to bring this beer bar to the 7th Street Public Market. It features 12 taps with NC beer as well as bottles, cans and growler refills. I am stoked about this because a) the owner of Metro is behind it, b) I love female-owned small businesses and c) a female-owned BEER bar? That’s just awesome!

9.13steak

Really productive and exciting dinner meeting featuring a medium rare steak? That’s my kind of meeting! 🙂

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
