Weekend: Pizza & My First Ray LaMontagne

Hi. It’s been a really great Monday. I would skip the weekend recap post and go straight into the new week (because it’s bringing many changes) but the weekend was so good I have to share that quickly and then we’ll move on! 🙂

The weekend post is brought to you thanks to pizza, M&Ms and Ray LaMontagne.

11.3fig

I stayed in on Halloween night because I was tired from the week and had a really full day on Saturday. I stopped at the grocery on the way home to pick up all the ingredients for my favorite fig and prosciutto flatbread.

11.3mm

I bought this big bag of M&Ms with 50 pieces of Peanut, Plain and Peanut Butter M&Ms. And I had ONE trick or treater. So at this point I have lost track of how many bags of M&Ms I have eaten. The bowl is rapidly decreasing in size. 😉

11.3beer

Saturday flew by in a flurry of teaching yoga, taking yoga and yoga meetings. I had really fun plans that night for pizza and Ray LaMontagne.

11.3salad

Before the concert we went to Mellow Mushroom. I can never resist starting with their Lil’ Greek Salad.

11.3pizza

And the pizza of choice was red sauce, mushrooms, Italian sausage, artichokes, olives and feta.

11.3ray

I have loved Ray LaMontagne’s music for many years and was thrilled to finally see him in concert. He played at Ovens Auditorium here in Charlotte and I put on my red lipstick for the occasion. (I’ve been loving it lately!) It was a nice low-key night. I enjoyed having seats and actually sitting for most of the concert. (Guess I’m getting old.)

11.3ray4

Ray sounded live exactly how he does on albums, which I always respect. He just has an amazing voice. Personality…a little lacking…but music was on point.

11.3brunch

I had a girl’s brunch on Sunday after I taught my yoga church class. It was freezing here this weekend so I wore a long sleeved sweater dress and tights for the first time this season! Tom’s wedges and my favorite Tilo scarf to finish off the outfit. Sullie was like, “Mom…enough selfies. Seriously…”

11.3nolen

I can never resist the breakfast pita at Nolen Kitchen. I intended to get a salad but got sucked in by the pita yet again. It’s a mix of scrambled eggs, oven roasted tomatoes, spinach and feta in a soft, warm tortilla.

I wrapped up Sunday with lots of computer work, my long run and cooking dinner. It was a great weekend.

Red lipstick…yes or no!?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
