I have a quick but effective ab workout to share with you today. I’ve been using it with some of my clients for the last couple of weeks as a warm up/core circuit and I’ve done it myself a few times too. I did it to finish up my workout yesterday and my abs were a little sore today!

The workout utilizes a stability ball. This is something that many people have at home and can be found in any gym. I love using stability balls for a variety of movements, especially core training.

And here is a quick video to demo all of the movements.

This workout burns! I had to stop a few times in the last circuit to lay over the ball and stretch my abs. The toes to bar movement is sneaky hard.

Let me know if you try it!

Here’s a quick recap of my workouts for last week. I was really strapped on time with the new schedule launching at Charlotte Yoga this week on top of a million other things to do so I stayed at the studio to practice a few days before/after I taught and squeezed in 20 minute gym workouts other days. Hope to settle down and get back to running this week.

Thursday

4 rounds:

500 meter row
15 GHD sit ups
10 deadlifts (105#)
10 pull ups (strict, band assisted)

I only had 25 minutes from the time I walked into the gym until I had to walk out so it was all business!

Saturday

20 minute AMRAP:

250 meter row
15 kettlebell swings (35#)
12 sit ups
9 power cleans (75#)

Do you use the stability ball in your workouts?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
