Four Sephora Makeup Finds

My makeup bag was in serious need of an update so I stopped by Sephora last weekend to do a little shopping. What I love most about Sephora is the ability to browse and shop multiple major makeup brands without having to go counter to counter. I get why makeup counters exist and how they are beneficial but sometimes it’s fun to mix and match brands and Sephora is definitely the place for doing that!

Here are four products that I picked up and have been using all week.

12.3eyeshadow

Benefit World Famous Neutrals, $30

I default to neutrals for my day-to-day look given that I spend most of my time in gyms and yoga studios. What I love most about this product is that it’s a kit that comes with four powder shadows and two creams and that all of the colors are really pretty. I also appreciate the tips and tricks that are included with the kit as well as the fun packaging. The only thing I don’t love about this is that it’s a little bulky to fit in my makeup bag to carry around in my gym bag.

12.3mascara

Benefit Beyond Mascara They’re Real!, $23

I had Diorshow Mascara in my hand but the sales associate who was helping me convinced me to go with Benefit’s They’re Real! instead. What I love about Sephora is that he told me to bring it back if I didn’t love it, no questions asked. I felt like I had to try it! I am a mascara addict and I have tried so many brands and formulas. I still haven’t tried Diorshow (let me know if you have!) but he didn’t steer me wrong on this mascara from Benefit. What I like about it is that it’s buildable and doesn’t get clumpy as you build. You can start with one coat for a natural look or go with two or three for a little more drama. This mascara gives me length and volume. It’s a long wearing formula that isn’t waterproof but doesn’t easily smudge or run. I have worn it to teach hot yoga without a problem.

12.3lipgloss3

Dior Addict Gloss, $29.50

I really needed a new go-to every day lip gloss in a pretty but fairly neutral color. The sales associate I was working with recommended the Dior Addict gloss and I went with a creamy pink. I bypassed any sparkle or sheen in favor of a straight up gloss. The verdict? Amazing. It not only feels great on…super hydrating and smooth…but the color is spot on too. While it looks really pink in the tube it doesn’t go on that bright.

12.3blush

Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Blush Duo, $17

I selected the fuchsia flushed color because I always gravitate towards pinky blushes. I just love a little pop of color on the cheeks. What I also like about this blush duo is that one side is shimmery and the other is flat so you can mix and match or just use one side for different day/night looks. This blush is s serious winner for the price.

So there you have it…I want to do a mascara round up post sometime in the next few months. Please let me know if you have any to recommend as “must try”…drugstore or beauty counter brand.

Have you tried any new makeup products lately that you’re loving?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
