I had a lunch meeting today at The Mayobird here in Charlotte and it’s now my new favorite lunch and meeting spot. Whether you live in Charlotte or not, you will love the concept of this restaurant!

mayobird menu board

It’s based on chicken salad! They offer 17 different varieties of chicken salad and you choose whether you want it on a sandwich, a melt, on a salad plate or with soup or salad.

I love chicken salad with nuts and fruit in it so I went with The Harvest which included apples, grapes and pecans. I did one scoop of chicken salad with a house salad. It was also served with pita chips. My chicken salad tasted great and I loved The Mayobird’s homemade balsamic dressing.

They have tons of great flavors of chicken salad including options like:

– The Big Bird with Curry
– The Heater with Jalepenos
– The Loaded with Bacon, Cheddar and Sour Cream
– The Buffalo with Wing Sauce
– The Greek with Feta, Greek Yogurt, Onions, Cucumbers, Tomatoes and Olives
– The Italian with Pesto and Sundried Tomatoes

And many more!

mayobird desserts

Everything in the restaurant is homemade and let me tell you…I was giving their desserts a stare down. They looked amazing. If chicken salad isn’t your thing they also have soups, BLTs, egg salad, tuna salad and a bunch of homemade sides.

All of the chicken that they use is local and free-range. And the bread is baked at a local bakery. It’s just an all-around great place!

It wasn’t just the food that sold me though…I really loved the atmosphere at The Mayobird. Seating is at a variety of couches, mismatched tables and counters. It’s the kind of place you want to hang out for a while…and hang out I did! I ended up ordering a latte and cozying up at a table near a fireplace and staying for two more hours after my meeting.

They have a full coffee bar with espresso drinks.

Mayobird Latte

I had an almond milk latte.

The Mayobird also serves a great looking breakfast menu and I can’t wait to go back and give it a try!

So excited to have discovered a new hang out/meeting/breakfast/lunch/coffee spot in Charlotte!

Charlotte readers…have you tried The Mayobird?

Everyone else…do you like chicken salad? What are your favorite mix- ins?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
