Since giving up the 9-5 life my wardrobe mostly consists of workout and lounge clothes. I’m lucky to put jeans on once a week and my work clothes have been hanging in my closet neglected for nearly four years now. Every year I donate more and more of them to Goodwill. I keep thinking I’m going to have an occasion to wear my suits again…but I don’t.

Instead I look like this most of the time.

A weird mix of workout + casual clothes. I really try to look somewhat presentable and put together when I’m training clients and running around town for social commitments and errands (when I am teaching hot yoga I kind of give up because it’s impossible to look presentable when it’s 100 degrees in your work environment).

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been “that girl” that shows up to lunches, dinners, meetings etc. in workout clothes but it’s the best I can do when I’m running between the yoga studio, the gym and my computer all day.

I used to feel guilty about spending money on this type of clothing but it essentially is my work wardrobe now so I’ve cut myself some slack. It is my “professional” look.

I have several go-to staples in my wardrobe and wanted to share them with you. They’re great items for lounging, errands, weekend, after class.

Lululemon Vinyasa Scarf.

I am SO OBSESSED with this scarf. I wear it almost daily and I never travel without it. There are so many ways you can wear it (check out this video from Lululemon that shows 10 ways to wear it.) I mostly wear it as a scarf draped or doubled but love it unbuttoned as a blanket/throw or head rest as well.

I have these seamless, padded, one-size-fits-all bras in several colors. They’re so comfortable for both daytime layering and lounging. I wear them all the time!

Odyssey Chaturanga? Tight - Black

Athleta Chaturanga Tight

I bought these as an alternative to Lululemon’s Wunder Under pants last December and have worn them nonstop ever since. They fit great, love the quality and Athlete offers a 30% discount to fitness professionals so it was a great deal!

Mossimo Women’s Layering Tank from Target

This long, thin tank top from Target has become a staple for me this spring for layering. I have it in four colors. It looks great with everything from shorts to jeans to the Chaturanga tights…especially with a Coobie bra underneath.

Havaianas Flip Flops.

Once the weather finally gets warm enough that the Uggs can be retired to the back of my closet, my Havaianas become my staple warm weather footwear. I cycle through at least 1-2 pairs of these every season. They are comfy and cute!

These five items of clothing are seriously on my body more days of the week than not. I hop you love them as much as I do! 🙂

Do you have any new hang out/lounge/comfy clothes recommendations to share?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
