Introducing Core Desire Yoga

Teaching yoga is my favorite thing in the whole world to do. While I love so many things about teaching, helping my students realize and believe in their own strength and start a journey of personal growth is high on the list. You see, what often begins as a physical practice that is a “good workout” usually transforms into something much deeper. You start to want to feel as good off your mat as you do on your mat.

For years I have wanted to find a way to combine my love for the messaging and personal growth side of yoga with the powerful physical practice…and I’m excited today to share how it’s finally coming to life.

I am partnering with one of my dearest friends, Dorie Fusaro, (she is seriously like a sister to me at this point) to create Core Desire Yoga. This new venture combines our shared love for yoga and personal growth.

Core Desire Yoga will offer weekend workshops and retreats that combine Danielle LaPorte’s The Desire Map with power yoga, deep stretch and meditation. Dorie is a licensed Desire Map program facilitator and will lead participants through The Desire Map Level One. I will lead yoga practices throughout the course that support the themes of the program.

Combining The Desire Map with yoga is a powerful way to deepen your experience with the program by opening your body, heart and mind through movement, breath and meditation.

The Desire Map started out as a book, written by Danielle LaPorte. I LOVE The Desire Map and Danielle LaPorte. I credit her books The Fire Starter Sessions and The Desire Map for helping set me on the path to where I am today.

Dorie and I have put so much planning into our workshop offering and I’m excited to share the details with you…

THE DESIRE MAP WORKSHOP – LEVEL 1 is a program for clarifying what you truly want in every area of your life, and using that powerful awareness to guide your choices from now on.

You will leave this workshop knowing your “core desired feelings” – a guidance system for your decision-making. A GPS for your soul.

We’ll look at our perceptions around “feelings” and goal setting. We’ll examine how we drive and strive, and see where in our lives we experience freedom — and where we want more of it.

You will be guided through 5 life areas, to explore your most desired feelings in:

  • Lifestyle + Livelihood
  • Creativity + Learning
  • Body + Wellness
  • Relationships + Society
  • Essence + Spirituality

Our first workshop will be in Charlotte the weekend of May 1-3. You can get the complete itinerary and program details on our website. And here’s the link to sign up. We’re offering an early bird discount through April 20.

Stay tuned for an announcement on a fall retreat date in the North Carolina mountains!

NOTE:

After declaring their core desired feelings, people have been known to make changes. You may quit stuff, launch something, stand up, shine brighter, ask for more.

You may feel the way you’ve always wanted to.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
