Last spring I announced the launch of Core Desire Yoga, a new venture combining two things that I love the most…personal growth and yoga. Even better, I partnered with my friend and fellow yoga teacher Dorie Fusaro to create it.

What is Core Desire Yoga?

Core Desire Yoga offers weekend workshops and retreats that combine Danielle LaPorte’s The Desire Map with power yoga, deep stretch and meditation. Dorie is a licensed Desire Map program facilitator and leads participants through The Desire Map Level One Course. I teach the yoga portion of the workshop and lead practices that support the themes of the program.

We had our first Core Desire Yoga weekend in Charlotte back in May and it was everything we dreamed it would be and more! You can read all about it in this post.

Dorie and I have been furiously planning a fall retreat. We initially hoped for the North Carolina mountains and even took a scouting trip to Asheville but all of the good fall dates were already booked. We made the decision to do a beach retreat this fall and mountains in spring of 2016.

So…let me give you all the details on our fall retreat! We are hosting it at Wild Dunes Resort located on Isle of Palms in the beautiful South Carolina low country.

Fun fact, my first job out of college was at Wild Dunes Resort and I was the marketing coordinator! It’s always held a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to go back to lead this retreat!

The retreat is September 25-27, three days, two nights. The resort is located just 30 minutes from historic Charleston. It’s an easy drive from many southern cities and there is also Charleston International Airport if you’re interested in flying. The weekend will feature a nice blend of yoga practice, Desire Map workshop and free time.

Grand-Pavilion-Pool-2

I’m so excited that our morning practices will be outdoors on the Grand Pavilion. It’s a sweeping covered pavilion overlooking the ocean.

I’m also excited about the optional paddle board yoga class we are offering on Saturday afternoon!

Wild Dunes is such a great resort and there are so many things to do. Obviously, there is the beach but there are also miles of running and walking trails, golf, tennis, spa and more. Workshop participants will have Saturday evening free to hang out around the resort, explore the island or head into Charleston.

It’s going to be a great weekend! I would love you guys join us. Our workshops are totally inclusive, welcoming and friendly and NO WORRIES about the yoga portion of it all! All levels are welcome.

You can get all the details about our Wild Dunes retreat and register on our Core Desire Yoga website!

Please feel free to message or email me with any questions.

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
