ABCs of Jen, Part 2

I’m currently en route from NYC to CLT. It’s been a crazy morning of travel and we’ve already done subway, bus and cab as well as switched from LGA to JKF when our flight got cancelled. We’re now on a direct flight from JFK to CLT and we’ll end up getting in just 2 hours later than planned…and we got upgraded to first so I can’t complain as the original plan was a reroute to Roanoke with a 3 hour layover.

I completed this ABC survey last week to give you a little Monday entertainment and a glimpse at some random facts about me. For whatever reason these survey types of posts are always popular.

You can check out the first ABC survey that I did four years ago in 2011 when I was 27…I’ve been writing this blog for too long! 😉

A – Age: 32

B – Biggest Fear: I’m so afraid of guns and have reoccurring nightmares about them. I’ve never shot or even touched a gun.

C – Current Time: 11:30 a.m.

D – Drink You Had Last: Coffee (always coffee…or wine…)

E – Easiest Person To Talk To: My grandmother! Any time I’m walking the girls I call her and we spend 30-45 minutes catching up. She always tells me she loves to walk the dogs with me! I’m that girl walking around the neighborhood with my earbuds on chatting my head off.

F – Favorite Song: How do I pick just one? Follow me on Spotify to see what I’m listening to and playing in my classes? I love music so very much.

G – Grossest Memory: When I was in high school and living at home, I was talking to a boy in my driveway and a bird pooped on my arm. To say I was embarrassed was an understatement.

H – Hometown: Milledgeville, Georgia…I grew up in South Georgia. I didn’t move out of the state of Georgia until I was 22.

I –  In Love With: currently summer…long summer days with a more relaxed pace, warm weather and never being cold (I am ALWAYS cold), summer travel, summer produce at the market…all things summer.

J – Jealous Of: No jealousy. Over here practicing abundance. Ommmmm…..

K – Kindest Person You Know: my friend Dorie. She is insanely thoughtful, kind and loving. She inspires me to be a better person.

L – Life Isn’t Complete Without: DOGS!

M – Middle Name: Marie…after my grandmother. Her name is Anna Marie (not Anna…she goes by both!)

N – Number of Siblings: 1

O – One Wish: for my book to be an international best seller and to appear on Good Morning America for a segment on plank workouts. A girl can dream, right? Buy it please! 🙂 🙂 🙂 (And if you’ve purchased my book it would be amazing if you could leave an Amazon review…just sayin!)

P – Person You Spoke To On The Phone Last: my friend Joe to interview him for a bio for the yoga studio

Q – Question You’re Always Asked: “What are you?” Seriously, my whole life. People always want to know my ethnicity. For the record, I think most of my coloring comes from my dad’s side of the family, which is Hungarian so that would be Eastern European. On a related note, I would love to visit Hungary one day. On another related note, I like my coloring because I fit in pretty much anywhere I go. I’m almost always spoken to in the language of the country I’m visiting and I have to kindly correct them!

R – Reason To Smile: My work. I truly LOVE what I do and every day I pinch myself that this is my career. I am so grateful I can’t even begin to explain it. I would do everything I do even if I didn’t get paid or didn’t have to work.

S – Song You Last Sang: I’ve been all about the audio books in the car lately so no car singing for me!

T – Time You Woke Up: 8 a.m…YAY! Wednesday is my “no early classes or clients” mid-week break. It’s a boundary I’ve recently set and I’m loving.

U – Underwear Color: Why is underwear always in the survey? Makes no sense. I changed it last time to “University” and I’m changing it again today to “Unknown Facts About Me.”

1) My elbows are crazy double jointed.
2) I turned 13 in Paris. (And my grandmother said everything changed that day and I became a full-on teenager. Ha!)
3) My first job was working in an athletic apparel/shoe store in the tiny mall in my hometown.
4) I’m seriously uncoordinated and have issues with depth perception that cause me to run into all kinds of things. (No one believes this because of my yoga practice but the struggle is real.)
5) I used to be a much slower runner. I finished my first 5K in 29:30 and my first half marathon in 2:14.

V – Vacation Destination: my first pick is always the Caribbean (I require an annual trip!) but I’ve had Europe on the brain lately.

W – Worst Habit: Popping everything on my body (fingers, toes, back, neck, you name it) and also being indecisive. It drives me crazy!

X – X-Rays You’ve Had: Too many to list! Knees, hips, feet, back, arm, teeth, collar bone and more.

Y – Your Favorite Food: If I had to pick one, peanut butter. If I could pick a few it would be peanut butter, avocados, green smoothies, ice cream and pizza.

Z – Zodiac Sign: Gemini (with a Virgo moon and Libra rising)…I love astrology.

Share some of your ABCs with me!

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
