Life Lately: The Week from My iPhone

Hey there! I hope it’s been a great week.

I have a video shoot about to commence at my house for a new project I’m working on with Fitter Faster but I wanted to pop in for a quick “life lately” post courtesy of the iPhone!

10.22table

Speaking of my house…we are getting all settled in and are completely unpacked. I completely credit my fiance for having us unpacked and organized within two weeks of moving in because I’m one of those people who would have coasted at 75% unpacked for a few months. Ha. I like to call this the table of decorative items needing a home. There’s a lot going on here but at least they’re pretty things.

10.22buddha

The buddha and lotus flowers have found their home.

10.22pups

We ran out of food one night so the dogs got this feast of the remainders of the dog food topped with brown rice, greek yogurt and cheese. They did not complain and I’m pretty sure they’d be cool with more food shortages in the future. 😉

10.22cltsky

It’s been insanely over the top gorgeous in Charlotte this week. 70s and Carolina blue skies.

10.2lunas

I’ve had a few friend dates to soak it all up. Smoothie on the patio at Luna’s (I know, I know…I just said I was taking a break from them. Old habits die hard…and at least it was afternoon snack and not breakfast!).

10.22baby

Breakfast date with one of my running partners and her five week old baby girl. That hat. Dying.

10.22cfp

It’s also been a week of pampering. I stopped in to see my friend at Carolina Facial Plastics for a little fall skincare check-in. Full post to come on that in the next week!

10.22haircut

And today I got a fresh cut and color. Last one was on my birthday over 4 months ago so it was needed! I felt so proud of myself when my stylist (who has seen me for 5+ years) told me my hair was in the best shape he’d ever seen it. I credit a summer of wet braids and wavy hair.

10.22promiseyourself

And finally, for the last year or so I have had a quote on my bathroom mirror. When we moved I changed it to this one and it’s such a lovely thing to see first thing in the morning and throughout the day. I highly recommend having a few quotes and affirmations around your home.

Lights, camera, action. Time to go!

Tell me the best thing about your week.

Are you a fast unpacker/organizer or can you live with a little chaos?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Big Bear Peaks + Pines Race Recap (3-Day Stage Race, My First 50k)

I recently traveled to Big Bear Lake, California for the inaugural Big Bear Peaks + Pines three-day stage race hosted by TransRockies Running. This was my third TransRockies event in 12 months (see also Colorado + Moab) and I’m here to tell you that they can do no wrong when it comes to race organization [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
