Friday I’m In Love, The Girl Tribe Version

TGIF! This week has been jam packed but in good ways. Work has been extra busy lately but that always seems to be the case when you’re gearing up for a vacation. Instead of letting it completely stress me out, I try to find gratitude for a) the opportunities and b) that I have built a career based on things I love so much (and of course there’s c)…that I’ll be practicing yoga on a Caribbean island next week.)

I saw this little gif on social media yesterday and loved it so much.

I want to stick to the topic of loving what you do for today’s blog post and share with you a few others who are out there hustling to make their dreams happen.

LL-About-page

My friend Clara (right) turned 30, left her job at SELF magazine, moved and started a podcast late last year. Clara and I met through the world of blogging and social media and were finally able to connect in real life last summer when I was in NYC. I so admire both her tenacity and creativity.

She and her friend Brooke have launched a podcast, “Life Lately,” that’s all about life and living true to you. Their manifesto of eight essential elements of living true to you makes my heart sing.

  1. Showing up
  2. Doing the work
  3. Choosing love over fear
  4. Striving for simplicity
  5. Daring to be vulnerable
  6. Asking the big questions
  7. Letting your heart do the talking
  8. Treating yourself like gold

Be sure to check out their podcast. They have now produced nine episodes.

My friends Sarah and Carrie have created something really amazing with Pink Social Girl Tribe. They produce graphic t-shirts and other fun girly products (love their kids line) and are based out of Charlotte. But it’s not all about the t-shirts. Sarah and Carrie also launched a closed facebook group to promote their belief that “empowered women empower women.” The Pink Social Girl Tribe now includes over 1,700 women (local and national) who are dedicated to supporting each other and ending the “girl wars.”

How’s that for a dose of Friday positivity?

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Reading, Watching, Listening (Spring 2026 Edition)

Happy weekend! Another week in the books! I got three runs in (6.5 miles, 5.5 miles, 5.5 miles) and I have a trail run planned for tomorrow. Total weekly mileage will end up around 30-35 miles depending on if I go for 13 or 17 tomorrow! I’m 16 weeks out from the Golden Ultra so [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
