What a week! I’m currently kicking my feet up after dinner while writing a rare evening blog. I used to be so bad about blogging at night and being on my computer late but now those are few and far between. Getting off my laptop at night has been so good for both my sanity and my relationship.

Now I make it a priority to get my posts written during the day but this week has just been insane with meetings, clients and classes so I wanted to pop in tonight because Friday offers much of the same (4 training clients in a row starting at 5:30 a.m. followed by teaching hot yoga…ouch).

I listen to things all the time. When I’m working I always have Spotify playing in the background. When we’re at home relaxing we always have a Pandora station playing and when I’m walking the dogs/running/driving in the car/cleaning/etc. I am always listening to a podcast or an audio book.

I’ve received a few questions about what podcasts I like so I thought I’d share a few.

I am OBSESSED with Dear Sugar Radio from Cheryl Strayed (author of Wild) and Steve Almond.

I also love the TED Radio Hour.

Both are from NPR which I listen to non-stop in the car. I feel like I never got in my parent’s car without hearing NPR and it’s a habit that’s stuck with me for many years.

When it comes to audio books, I recently finished Carry On Warrior and really enjoyed it.

Snapshots from this week…

5.19liquido

I’ve had a several meetings with various apparel companies about fall and holiday orders for the studio. We recently got a new shipment of Liquido Active in and I’m totally in love with the prints.

5.19trackandfieldoutfit

Speaking of apparel, I stopped by The Track and Field Store and picked up this new outfit for the #UltimatePlankChallenge. The leggings are awesome and I like the stripe detail on the bra.

(Note: If you’re in Charlotte they are celebrating their one year anniversary by giving away a FREE ThermoDry Tank or T-Shirt on Friday, 5/21 when you spend $100!)

5.19wine

Wine tasting for Namastay Kitchen. (job perk!)

5.19flatbread

Fig and prosciutto flatbread during the wine tasting. Look familiar? It was inspired by my recipe!

5.19pups

And these two. So sweet, so cuddly and so in love with each other. I’ll be sharing some pup news later this weekend.

Alright, I need to get to bed for that early wake up call. I hope it’s been a great week for you guys!

I’d love your podcast recommendations!

Have you listened to any good audiobooks lately?

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
