Good morning! I hope your week is off to a great start. If you’re kind of feeling like it’s not, remember what I always tell my 6 a.m. yoga class…you choose your attitude. 😉

Thank you for the encouraging words about Sullie and her surgery on Wednesday. You know I will keep you all updated. We are going to choose positivity and hope right now instead of worst-case thinking. I tried to soak up a lot of QT with her this weekend. And with that, here’s the weekend recap.

5.23breathingspace

I taught my last class of the day on Friday at 4:20 p.m. and then treated myself to a long-overdue manicure and pedicure before heading uptown (in crazy, crazy rain) to support some friends and the opening of their new show Breathing Space at Sozo Gallery.

The show was stunning and soulful and the room was full of some of friends and familiar faces. We are going to be hosting this show at Y2 in June and I can’t wait.

5.23tapas

After the show we popped next door for a few small plates at Malabar. We shared stuffed chilis, octopus and chicken empanadas.

5.23frinight

And I posed with a giant bird in Hearst Tower on the way back to our car.

5.23farmersmarket

A few farmers market opened up in our neighborhood so I went to check it out on Saturday morning.

5.23fmhaul

It’s awesome to have a market right around the corner but I did miss the variety and selection that I find at the Charlotte Regional Market (especially organics and meats) so I’ll still be heading over there regularly. Here’s a selection of what I bought on Saturday.

5.23girlspostwalk

The rest of my Saturday was pretty magical. I taught my 11:15 hot class and then took advantage of a 90-minute massage that was open with one of our therapists at the studio. My back has been a little wonky for the last couple of weeks and I can’t even begin to tell you how much she helped. I feel almost 100% back to normal two days later. When I got home I ate lunch, lounged around, cleaned, napped and then took the girls for a really long walk while I talked to my mom and grandmother. We covered 4 miles! They were happy.

5.23sushi

I got dressed up and headed off to a friend’s birthday celebration. I had a plate of sushi when I arrived.

5.23cake

And then a slice of cake. It was from Edible Art and oh so yummy!

5.23jl

Lina and I have been friends since teacher training five years ago. Funny story…the first weekend of teacher training she basically told me we were going to be friends…and she was right. We became fast friends! She’s an amazingly beautiful woman both inside and out. We’ve shared so many special moments together including her wedding in the Dominican Republic, my 30th birthday, her baby shower and much more.

5.23ts

We did the brunch thing on Sunday morning and then I got ready to head to the Dowd Y to teach my once-a-month rotational class. This month I taught Total Strength and the workout was awesome! I went straight from the Y to Y2 to teach my 11th and final class of the week. Class was great and a nice way to wrap up the week.

5.23jensul

After a Trader Joe’s trip, I came home to spend some time with my little family. My fiance, the girls and I took a walk. The weather was so gorgeous.

5.23grill

We spent the evening on the back deck enjoying the weather and using our grill for the first time!

5.23girlskitchen

And we wrapped up the night on the couch watching the movie Room. We’re only about halfway done with it but it’s intense.

I’m off to train two clients and teach a hot class. So starts another week and I intend to make it a really good one! I hope you do too! 🙂

Tell me about your weekend, what was the highlight?

What’s the last movie you saw?

Do you grill out often?

TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
