Hey guys! I’m so pumped to share all of the details on the Sweat, Strengthen and Flow Workout that I hosted for my community along with Premier Protein last Saturday morning. I’ve got a bunch of photos from Saturday’s event as well as a workout graphic so you can try it out for yourself!

Premier Protein Sweat Strengthen and Flow Event

I’ve been an ambassador for Premier Protein about a year and a half now and as part of this year’s ambassadorship, Premier Protein supported me in organizing a community workout. I was blown away by how much actual support the team gave me. I shared my vision and they made it all come to life. They handled all of the logistics and day-of details while I got to focus on promoting the event and planning a killer workout.

To say that the event day exceeded my expectations is an understatement. It was more than I could have ever imagined and I was so honored to lead this workout to benefit an amazing local non-profit, RunningWorks.

Event Set-Up

Two members of the Premier Protein PR team even flew down from NYC to set up and run the event. I had met both of them once before during my trip to NYC last summer so it was great to connect again after a year of emails. The RunningWorks team was also on hand to talk about the work they do in Charlotte for homeless adults, at-risk youth and young adults, women in recovery and youth who have been separated from their families and are in the custody of the Department of Social Services.

I was really happy when I found out that Premier Protein was on-board with my charity of choice.

I was so nervous as the participants were arriving because I wanted the event to be a success for RunningWorks. I was relieved to see the field start to fill up and to see so many familiar faces of friends, students, clients and blog readers. Premier Protein also had a local radio station on-site doing a live broadcast so we had some awesome tunes for our workout!

The Cardio “Sweat” Portion

Running Drills

I designed the workout to feature all the things I love to do…sweat, strengthen and flow! We did 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength and 20 minutes of yoga for a killer one-hour workout that left us all sweaty, tired but smiling. We started out with jumping jacks, a bunch of different 100 meter running drills, burpees, bear crawls and suicides. We were all dripping in sweat after the cardio portion of the workout.

The Bodyweight Strength “Strengthen” Portion

Outdoor Boot Camp

Then it was on to our strength workout.

Outdoor Workout

It was full of push ups, sit ups, squats, lunges and core work.

Outdoor Boot Camp

We spent a minute on 12 different exercises with a short transition time between each exercise for me to demo and them to get set and then a 2 minute break halfway through the set.

The “Flow” Yoga Portion

I think everyone’s favorite part was the yoga flow at the end. 😉 In all seriousness, it was a great way to slow down and remember why were were out there…to “be stronger.” When we focus on becoming the strongest and best versions of ourselves, we’re able to spread that strength out into our communities.

I was thrilled to hear a representative from RunningWorks share that the money raised from the event would go directly to buying bus tickets. It’s one of their biggest expenses and needs. They give their runners bus tickets as rewards for showing up for the program. The participants need bus tickets to get around town, to jobs and to job interviews.

Premier Protein Sweat Strengthen and Flow Event

The biggest thank you to everyone who came out to sweat, strengthen and flow with me.

And the biggest thank you to Premier Protein for having me as an ambassador and supporting me in supporting my community in a way that is important to me. <3

And here’s the workout if you want to give it a go! All you need is a field/parking lot/sidewalk and your own bodyweight!

Happy sweating!

Have you ever participated in an outdoor workout or boot camp?

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
