We just arrived home from our yoga retreat in Mexico late last night. There was a ground stop in Charlotte on Wednesday evening due to some crazy storms so we were diverted to Jacksonville, Florida. The initial plan was for us to deplane and go through customs in JAX but thankfully they kept us on the plane, refueled and we were cleared to head back to Charlotte. We finally walked in our front door a little before 1 a.m. and were grateful to be home safely. There were definitely some white knuckled, hand clenching, eyes closed moments on that flight into Charlotte.

These two are doing the pouting game today over being left for 5 days. We have the most amazing dog sitter who comes and stays with the pups so their life is pretty good while we’re gone but they’re still wanting some extra attention and love.

I’m going to break up our yoga retreat experience into three separate posts. Today’s will just be a general photo dump, tomorrow I’ll showcase all of the delicious food we ate and next week I’ll write a full recap of Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita because I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fabulous all-inclusive Mexico vacation.

I’ll go “a sentence per picture” style here.

Little white dress for dinner on the last night. (You have to save the white dress for the tan, right?) Uncaptured by this picture was the size of my curly hair! It faded into the darkness.

sunrise at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita

I was up every morning before 7 a.m. on this trip. The bonus of that was getting to see the sunrise on our patio every day.

Soaking up a few last hours on the beach before we left yesterday.

Saying goodbye to Zoetry.

Doing what he does best and always making me laugh. This was the scene at the Cancun airport yesterday.

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
