Hi and I hope your week is off to a great start. I spent the morning teaching and taking. I taught hot yoga and then Y2 Strength and then stayed to practice after. I felt like quite a noodle as I headed home for lunch but in the best way. I’m done teaching for the day and just have dog walking, a studio management team meeting, a grocery store trip and computer work to tackle. I feel eternally behind on everything but that’s okay. One thing at a time.

I was super late getting my Friday post published (like 9:30 p.m. late) but I finally got my review of Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita written. It was a quite an undertaking. Check it out here if you missed it and let me know if you have any questions! I know many of you were probably Cinco de Mayo and Derby-ing this weekend and probably not reading blogs. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s what we were up to over the weekend.

Namastay Kitchen Salmon

On Friday evening I got a pedicure and then joined some friends on the patio at Namastay Kitchen for an impromptu dinner. I had our BBQ seared salmon over a quinoa blend with sauteed spinach and goat cheese. Our kitchen does the best job cooking salmon and it’s always perfectly crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth tender on the inside.

Namastay Kitchen Cupcake

We offer revolving flavors of cupcakes baked in house and Friday’s was margarita in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. I brought one home and it was delicious!

Ultima Replenisher

My Saturday started with a 6:30 a.m. wake-up call to head to the studio with Tanner to take super flow. Our Saturday 7:30 a.m. class is called super flow and it’s the most intense flow class we offer. It’s only offered one time a week and I haven’t taken it in over two years! I jokingly told Tanner on Friday night that I would take it on Saturday and the rest was history. He’s been teaching this class on Saturday mornings for something like 7+ years. Happy to report that it went well! ๐Ÿ™‚

Side note…I almost always add Ultima Replenisher to my water when I’m taking hot yoga. It’s super helpful for me to add electrolytes in when I do hot practices and I feel SO much better after when I do.

namastay kitchen beet burger

After class I ran home to make a smoothie and put a playlist together for my 11:15 a.m. I headed back to the studio to teach and then we had brunch at Namastay Kitchen. I went with a salad topped with a beet burger, as usual!

suarez bakery

We stopped by Suarez Bakery to grab a sweet treat on our way to my rental house.

My new tenants moved in on Saturday and I stopped by to bring them a welcome bottle of wine and to check on my handyman who was finishing a few things up. The couple that just moved in signed the lease without seeing the house in person. They were moving from out of town and the Charlotte market is super crazy right now so they sent a family member to see the house for them and give them a Facetime tour. I can’t even imagine! All was well and their pup seemed to be in heaven in the backyard. Check out this cute thing.

dean and deluca panini

Back at our place we took naps and straightened up the house. At 7:15 p.m. Tanner said, “Let’s go see Guardians of the Galaxy. It starts at 8 p.m.” I replied, “I’m hungry and I really don’t want to see a Marvel comic movie.” We compromised and stopped at Dean & Deluca for a quick bite to eat before seeing the 8:30 showing. I had a turkey panini that was just okay. I find D&D to be overpriced for what it is but it was better than sitting in the movie starving for 3 hours!

I have to admit that I’m glad I saw the movie, Marvel comic and all. It was really funny and super entertaining.

trivial pursuit the 90s

Back at home we played Trivial Pursuit: The 90s until almost 12:30. Wild and crazy Saturday night. ๐Ÿ˜‰

paleo banana bread muffin

I made a fresh batch of Paleo banana bread muffins on Sunday morning.

charlotte nc

The weather was crazy beautiful so I enjoyed an afternoon outside.

tomtom spark 3

I ran 5 miles.

golden retrievers

And then walked a little under 3 with these two before heading to the studio to teach.

I didn’t end up getting my yoga practice in yesterday for the 30-day challenge because we had a mandatory teacher meeting after my class and it was too late by the time we got out to take any other class…and I just couldn’t pass up the Vitamin D earlier in the day.

After 3+ months of making weekly workout playlists for you guys, I’m going to take a pause this week and I’ll get back to it next week. In the meantime, feel free to browse through any of my older playlists on Spotify or listen to “It’s ALT Good!” on Spotify. It was the perfect soundtrack fro my run yesterday.

Time to tackle that to-do list!

Have you ever moved somewhere without seeing it first? What is the housing market like where you live?

Last movie you saw in the theater?

Did you get outside this weekend? If so, what did you do!?

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

This potato and broccoli cheddar soup is a warm hug in a bowl. It’s a mash up of potato soup meets broccoli cheddar soup, and makes for a creamy, hearty and cheesy bowl that has just enough broccoli in it to make you feel like you’re getting your veggies in for a complete meal. POTATO [...]
