I didn’t mean to get so long-winded in my weekend recap! Now that it’s almost Thursday…I think we need to wrap this thing up! ๐Ÿ™‚

Let’s pick up on Sunday morning.

I woke up naturally around 6 a.m. (that time change!!!) with plenty of time to eat breakfast and get ready to head to Balance Health Studio for their Sunday morning spicy vinyasa class.

It’s almost an hour drive for me to get to Balance but I fell in love with this Sunday class a couple of years ago and I just can’t miss it when I’m in town.

It’s taught by the owner, Kelli Precourt, and takes place in their yoga studio on the third floor of the building. It has views of the gulf and the space just feels so good. I can’t even tell you how much I love Kelli’s classes. She’s so skilled at teaching a truly all-levels class where you feel 100% comfortable wherever you may be. She’s natural, conversational and relatable. If you’re vacationing in the area, seek her out.

We started and ended class singing the mantra Lokah Samastah Sukino Bhavantu which translates to, “may all beings everywhere be happy and free and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.โ€ It’s one of my favorites and was exactly what I needed from this practice. It was 90 minutes of sweaty bliss.

I stopped by The Donut Hole on my way home from class with one thing on my mind…a sour cream cake donut. So tasty! ๐Ÿ™‚

Back at my grandmother’s condo, I had a salad with my leftover blackened grouper from the previous night’s dinner out before hitting the beach with my mom for a few hours.

After we came in from the beach and got cleaned up, my mom helped me with photography and video for my 100 Rep Core Workout post. I made her work on Mother’s Day. Yay for moms! ๐Ÿ™‚

After the photo shoot we all gathered at my parent’s place for Mother’s Day dinner. My parent’s golden Sam was excited.

His sister Missy, less so but can we take a moment to appreciate my grandmother’s styling Sperry’s!? I would seriously wear these!

Dinner was burgers. Random choice for Mother’s Day, I know, but they are my grandmother’s favorite and I was craving my dad’s grilled food! We had my lemon feta potato salad and a side salad on the side.

Dessert was a chocolate cake that my grandmother had been eyeing at Publix. They make the best cake! She was surprised and excited that we got it for her.

After dessert we headed back to her place and watched a few more episodes of House Hunters before calling it a night.

I worked for a few hours on Monday morning. I broke to eat this breakfast of almond milk yogurt with fruit, cereal and almond butter.

Best cereal ever. (And I’m not a cereal girl.)

After I wrapped up my work I knocked out a quick 5 miles. Gah, the heat and humidity upped my workout intensity a ton!

A foggy, gray morning gave way to the most beautiful afternoon.

OMG…that water!

Since my flight wasn’t until later in the afternoon, my mom and I were able to soak up a few more hours at the beach.

The gulf can be temperamental and this was the clearest and most colorful that I’ve seen it in a very long time.

Lunch in the sand before heading to the airport.

I got home a little after 8 p.m. and was greeted with PJs and slippers laid out, a glass of wine and Tanner had prepped all the ingredients for my homemade pad thai. Very sweet and thoughtful of him!

Counting down the days until my next visit. I can’t wait to see my sweet grandma again and to see those gorgeous Florida beaches.

How did you spend Mother’s Day weekend?

What’s your favorite cereal?
