A Bright and Cheerful Week (and Cake!)

Helllllooo! Haha, clearly that dream I had about a normal posting schedule while my nieces were visiting was a delusional thought.

SHOUT OUT to all of my readers who are moms to littles. I don’t know how you get anything done. Between cooking, cleaning, baths, laundry, playing, answering questions (so many questions), chauffeuring and all the other things that go into having kids around, there isn’t time left for much else.

But no complaints here. We freaking LOVE it. So much so that Tanner and I are trying to negotiate adding a few extra days to their visit. 🙂 Tanner is great with kids and my mom and I left him solo with the girls last night while we went out for dinner. We arrived home to happy and fed girls although only one made it into her PJs and I think we forgot baths. 😛 All three of them were watching a movie together and Tanner and Kilynn were snoozing.

Kilynn is five and will start kindergarten next year. She loves helping me cook.

This girl has the cutest personality. This is how she dressed herself for her first day of splash camp. She didn’t even want to put clothes on over her bathing suit. She wanted to be ready to jump in ASAP.

Kilynn loves the pups.

And they are both so patient with her.

Jaidyn is nine and will be entering fourth grade in the fall. I’m so proud of her for making honor roll all last school year. She’s in a “Girl’s Rock” day camp and is eating it up. They are doing all sorts of fun things like self-esteem building activities, talent shows, crafts, swimming and more.

They have both enjoyed coming to the studio with Tanner and me. They love our child watch room and “sweet talking” us into toy store visits after class.

Funfetti Rainbow Cake

One of my amazing students told me she wanted to bake a cake for me this week so that Jaidyn and Kilynn could enjoy it too. How beautiful is this cake!? It’s so bright, cheerful and fun.

I’m feeling extra grateful for our yoga community. They have gone above and beyond in supporting and loving me and the girls over the last 10 months. One of my friends is a pediatric dentist and she treated both of the girls while they were here. My friend Wanda has offered to do a fun photo shoot with them and we’ve had tons of play date and swim invitations. 🙂

We may or may not have had cake for breakfast this morning. 😉

That’s all for now…just a quick check-in today. I hope you guys are having a great week!

What’s been the best part of your week so far?

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
