A 20-minute power yoga flow to start your morning off with stretching, twists, backbends and inversions so you feel amazing for the day ahead!

Today I’m excited to share a 20-minute power yoga flow video with you along with how to start your day in an intentional, powerful and present way! There’s also a $100 Visa Gift Card giveaway at the end of the post so that’s a pretty sweet deal too! (And keep reading to find out how to make your mornings a little sweeter!)

Let’s talk about your morning flow. Do you have a set morning routine or do your mornings tend to be more like sleep as long as possible and rush as fast as you can to get where you need to be? I believe that the pace of our mornings and what we do in the first hour that we are awake can have a huge impact on the day ahead.

Since I’ve dropped all but one of my early morning work commitments, I’ve really come to love the ease and peace of the hour right after I wake up. I find that I feel best when I spend some time in both meditation and movement to start the day. I also look forward to making a cup of hot coffee or tea and a nutritious breakfast more than I should probably admit!

Rise & Shine 20-Minute Power Yoga Flow

I’m a yoga teacher so I may be a little biased but I think that moving and breathing is one of the best ways to intentionally start your day. Syncing your movement and breath through a yoga flow instantly snaps you into presence and sets you up for deep, full breathing in your day ahead. Getting into this breathing pattern helps to calm the nervous system and will help you make decisions based on ration and reason instead of reaction as you move through your day.

And gosh, does the stretch ever feel amazing after a night of sleep! While I do have to go slower and be more mindful in early morning practice, I always emerge from it feeling energized, clear and positive.

Rise & Shine 20-Minute Power Yoga Flow

I’ve put together a 20-minute power yoga flow for you guys that I’m sure you’ll love starting your day with. It’s just the right mix of stretching and flow along with twists, backbends and inversions.

Rise and Shine 20-Minute Power Yoga Flow Video

Here’s a video demonstrating the full 20-minute power yoga flow along with my coaching and cues to walk you through it pose-by-pose.

As you’re going through this flow, I really encourage you to think about the day ahead…How do you want to feel throughout it? How can you remember to keep the breath and focus you cultivate through your practice with you when things get tense or stress starts to creep in? How can you practice taking a deep breath before you react to things that come up? How can you choose a positive attitude and to see the best in all people and situations instead of going into the day looking for everything that could go wrong?

Remember, YOU are 100% in charge of the decisions you make about your attitude and perspective. Change it and shift it if you don’t like where you are right now.

I hope you love this flow and find that it’s both useful and feels good! As always, I’m open to your questions and feedback. Beginner yogis, it might take a few times of watching and practicing to really find your groove but stick with it!

Organic Stevia in the Raw

After practice it’s time to grab that cup of coffee or tea and make yourself some breakfast! While I prefer my coffee black, I enjoy sweetening my tea and smoothies a bit sometimes and I’ve discovered an organic, non-GMO, vegan and gluten-free option that’s part of the In The Raw family of sweeteners – Organic Stevia In The Raw. It’s perfect for sweetening beverages both hot and cold as well as for sprinkling on things like fruit or yogurt.

Organic Stevia in the Raw

Organic Stevia In The Raw is the newest addition to the In The Raw sweetener lineup and is packaged in easy single-serving packets. Each packet has only three calories but provides the sweetening equivalence of two teaspoons of sugar. I think you’ll find the ingredient list to be clean and the taste to be great.

If you’d like to learn more about Organic Stevia In The Raw, find a retailer here, buy online here. For my local readers, you can pick up this product at Harris Teeter in Charlotte!
