Although I’m not personal training at the current moment, I couldn’t let the holiday season pass by without putting together my Christmas Cookie Crusher workout! These workouts were an annual tradition for my clients and we usually brought each other cookies or some other goodies on the day that we did it. I think this is the fourth year that I’ve done it. Here are links to previous years – 2014, 2015 and 2016.

dumbbells and christmas cookies

And just a reminder as we are in the thick of holiday cheer, you NEVER have to earn your food or burn off x number of calories to make up for what you did eat. Enjoy your life on every level from celebrating moving your body to eating lots of greens and healthy food to savoring sweets to sharing a toast with friends.

If you are in the mood to get moving and sweating during the holidays, I’ve got a workout for you. And if you’re not and want to chill and relax with friends and family, that’s cool too. Bookmark these workouts to try in the new year!

2017 CHRISTMAS COOKIE CRUSHER WORKOUT: GYM VERSION

2017 Christmas Cookie Crusher Workout: The Gym Version

The gym version is rep-based and features three sets of work and a descending rep scheme. You’ll complete two rounds of each set before moving on to the next. The first set is all about the kettlebells, second set dumbbells and third set is your cardio/plyo set. Oh and all three have burpees. You’ll do 90 burpees in this workout!!!! (Sorry not sorry, xo!)

2017 CHRISTMAS COOKIE CRUSHER WORKOUT: HOME VERSION

2017 Christmas Cookie Crusher Workout: The Home Version

The home version is time-based because I always think that’s easiest for home workout and bodyweight movements. It also makes it accessible for others to join in with you and for everyone to work at their own pace.

This workout also features three sets of work and descending interval times each set. You’ll do two rounds of each set before moving on to the next. The movements get more difficult as the time intervals shorten. It will take you just under 30 minutes to finish.

I’m not sure which workout I think is tougher so y’all will have to weigh in with your vote. One thing is for sure, both will give you a great workout and get you sweating.

Merry, merry everyone! Go enjoy your Christmas cookies and your workouts!

Love,
Jen

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]

Moab Run The Rocks Race Recap (3 Day Stage Race)

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]
