Hi there. I’m sorry that I missed my 20 week recap yesterday but I have been hit by a chest cold that’s left me homebound in PJs and resting up as much as possible.
Although it’s not exactly how I envisioned hitting the halfway mark, I’m just so grateful to be at this point with baby…
BOY!
I didn’t want to make you guys wait any longer on the gender announcement so hopefully I’ll have the 20 week recap up tomorrow. In the meantime, we are over the moon excited about welcoming a little boy into our family in May!
I wrote a few pregnancy posts in my first trimester that I kept private and unpublished. The first was at four weeks and three days and the last line of the post reads, “Oh and one last thought. My early guess/mama’s intuition is that this is a baby boy.”
From the moment I got that positive test I had this overwhelming feeling that it was a boy and that stayed with me throughout early pregnancy. At our 12 week ultrasound/NT scan, our tech said she would be very surprised if it wasn’t a boy and she confirmed it at our 18 week anatomy scan. Actually, she didn’t even have to confirm it…I looked over at the screen and said, “oh so I see it’s definitely a boy!”
I truly didn’t have a preference on gender either way (I honestly felt so strongly it was a boy that I’d have been SHOCKED if it was a girl) but I think this baby boy will be just perfect for us. I know it sounds crazy but I already feel so in tune with his energy and so at peace with him.
Now, just 138 days until his due date! I absolutely can’t wait to meet him. 🙂
Did you have a feeling one way or the other on the gender of your baby before finding out?
Moms of boys, what’s your favorite thing about being a boy mom?

YOU GUYS! It’s been SIX MONTHS since I wrote a recent eats post! (insert face screaming emoji here) These have been a mainstay on my blog for years. It’s probably my longest-running content series of all time. I have received countless comments and messages from people over the yeas about how useful they find them [...]

I cannot believe it’s been nearly a month since I completed Moab Run The Rocks! It’s a three-day stage race in Moab, Utah that’s put on by the same race organization, TransRockies Rockies Race Series, that I did my six-day Colorado race with back in August. TransRockies truly excels when it comes to planning and [...]

I recently spent four nights in Moab, Utah for a three-day stage trail race called Moab Run The Rocks. Since returning home, I’ve been telling everyone I talk to about my trip that they must put Moab on their travel bucket list (43 miles of running not required to have an amazing visit to Moab [...]

This potato and broccoli cheddar soup is a warm hug in a bowl. It’s a mash up of potato soup meets broccoli cheddar soup, and makes for a creamy, hearty and cheesy bowl that has just enough broccoli in it to make you feel like you’re getting your veggies in for a complete meal. POTATO [...]
