Friday Nails, Cupcakes & Steak

Happy Friday! Mine started pre-5 a.m. which is brutal on a Friday but worth it to train a great client at 5:30 a.m. After that I taught a yoga class, did some treadmill interval work and then taught another lunch yoga class at Om Yoga.

12.12dinner

Backing up to Thursday night…I made spinach and artichoke stuff portobello mushrooms topped with parmesan panko and tomato basil sauce. Steamed kale with garlic on the side.

12.13breakfast

Breakfast this morning was a repeat of yesterday’s because it was just so good. Oatmeal with satueed pears stirred in. Today I topped it with pumpkin butter and peanut butter. I loved reading about your preferences between savory v. sweet breakfast. I WISH I craved eggs in the morning but 99% of the time it turns my stomach unless it’s the brunch timeframe. Crazy.

We’ll skip over lunch because it was a soup and salad repeat of yesterday. I had a call with the lovely Heather this afternoon to talk careers in fitness/yoga. It’s a subject that I love to talk about so if any of you ever want mentorship or just to talk, let me know! After the call I treated myself to some pampering in the way of a polish change (OPI Muir Muir On The Wall for those of you asking), a carrot cake cupcake and a brow wax. Lovely.

12.13dinner

I had a couple hours of work to knock out once I got home and then got to work on dinner. I’ve always been a fan of staying in on Friday nights after a long week of work. It’s so relaxing to cook, drink wine, lounge and know you don’t have to be anywhere at 5:30 a.m. the next morning! Dinner was a new steak recipe with a balsamic/soy/red wine/honey/garlic glaze, sauteed peppers and onions and shredded brussels sprouts. It was amazing.

Time to power down electronics and relax by the fire and Christmas tree. Have a wonderful weekend!

Friday night…in or out?

A Friday night in is ideal for me. I feel SO drained after teaching middle school all week that all I want is some wine and to catch up on my favorite TV shows. Nice nails!

Aww thank you again for the chat and encouragement! You definitely gave me a lot to think about and made the path to get where I want to be seem less overwhelming! Purchased the NASM training this morning 🙂

I think we all need Friday treats now and then, and getting your nails done and enjoying a cupcake sounds like a perfect pampering! Love that color btw too!!

I am the same about breakfast! I always think I may want eggs the night before but then I wake up and I pretty much never want eggs. But then I love them for brunch/lunch and even dinner!

I have to get up at 4:15 AM on Fridays to teach boot camp at 5:00 AM, so Friday nights are and have always been about staying in, recovering, relaxing, and catching up on my guilty Bravo TV obsession. I’ve tried to go out with friends on Friday, but I’m always ready to go to bed at 8:00…LOL!

I love your nails! I, for one, would love to hear advice about fitness careers. I recently married and moved to a new town – and a much smaller gym than the one I used to go to. I’m teaching Zumba and working in the office, but I also passed my NASM personal trainer certification last month. I have a few clients, but getting started is harder and slower than I expected!

Fridays – out for happy hour w/ friends to reward ourselves for a draining work week, then home early. Usually in on Saturday PM unless we head to a friend’s house or host for dinner. Spend my weekend days relaxing at the house, love being home.
