Summer Camp Is In Session + Life Lately + Upcoming Events

Hi, hi! I hope y’all are having a great week. My week has felt a little jumbled because I’ve subbed some extra classes and had Finn on a night that I usually don’t but all is good!

I have some exciting news…

SUMMER CAMP IS IN SESSION

golden retrievers

Doggie summer camp is in session! Bear arrived today to stay for a long weekend and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have this sweet boy with us again. He’s the seven-year-old golden retriever of a friend of mine and he’s been doing summer (and some holiday) visits with us since gosh…maybe 2015-16? Let’s take a walk down memory lane!

Finn, Zoey and Bear in 2019. This was about six months after I lost Sullie and having Bear in the house was what made me feel ready to think about getting another dog. Benji joined the fam about three months later!

Dogs are just the best. 🙂

LIFE LATELY

You know who else is the best? Finn. Three has been such a joyful and fun age for us. Here are some of my favorite moments with him lately.

three years old

Finn is making so much progress with his swimming! He swam from the steps to a ladder on the side of the big pool on his own when we were at the pool a few days ago!

UPCOMING EVENTS

jen eddins ymca of metro atlanta

I’m participating in a webinar on Thursday in partnership with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. I’m speaking about simple strategies to nurture your body, mind and spirit. Registration is free and you don’t have to be a Y member to join in. Here is the link!

jen eddins yoga

I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon shooting images and videos for yoga assist trainings. It’s been a goal of mine to create a more formal training with a manual that includes photos of each assist as well as a video library. I’ll use these materials in continuing education trainings that I offer to teachers as well as in my yoga teacher trainings. My model was one of the graduates of my yoga teacher training at Vibes last summer. I have another 200-hour YTT coming up at Vibes in January 2022 so stay tuned for dates and details.

In the meantime, I am leading a 10-hour assist refresh training for yoga teachers this weekend at Vibes. All the details and registration information is on the website!

I also have another 200-hour yoga teacher training kicking off at VIDYA in Tennessee in August! You can find details on that here.

That wraps up my update. I’ve got to make my way through some emails and work before heading back to the studio to teach yoga this evening.

I just finished my ACE PT certification!

Congratulations! What a wonderful accomplishment! Do you want to personal train clients?

      • Cornelia July 25, 2021, 9:38 pm

I have been teaching group classes for a few years. I wouldn’t mind also training some clients too.

Okay – this is random – but how is your toe/toenail doing? I noticed how pretty your mani/pedi look!

    • Jen July 22, 2021, 1:58 pm

OMG, you’re so nice to ask! The bone in my toe heeled perfectly. My toenail grew back but it has a big ridge down the middle of it and the nail bed is damaged/jagged. But hey, I will take having a toenail over it not growing back at all!

I think age 3.5 + was when I finally truly started to enjoy motherhood. It really is so much fun, and has only been getting more fun as the years go on (mixed with challenges of course). I would definitely pass up the baby and young toddler years and take a little kid anyday!!
We have a French mastiff named Tyson! He is 1 years old and about 100 lbs. he is a LOT of work!! Recently had a canine behavioural therapist in which has helped a lot.

I appreciate it when parents are honest about the ages and stages that they found to be most enjoyable and most challenging. It normalizes things like loving your children but not the baby stage/young toddler/teens/whatever! Thank you for sharing!

You are a great pet parent to bring in a behavioral specialist to help with Tyson! Here’s hoping he settles down as he gets a little older.

Yikes. The ads in this post are so overwhelming and it took forever to load! Don’t know if you have any control it But it is very distracting

I have a 6yo right now and my goodness, he is SO FUN!
