Happy weekend. I’m sorry I have been MIA…lots happening right now – it’s been a weird couple of days.
Quick check in…Saturday started with an early 90-minute yoga practice followed by a massage appointment for my hamstring. This was so not the relaxing kind of massage but rather very focused on recovery and rehabilitation. I was a little bummed because after my appointment my hamstring was suuuuper sore but it’s already feeling TONS better tonight. A noticeable improvement. I have two more sessions booked. Hoping for continued healing.
I was famished when I arrived home so I had peanut butter, honey, banana and cinnamon on Great Harvest Whole Wheat Cinnamon Raisin Walnut.
Brandon and I decided to check out the big regional farmer’s market today (we usually go to the smaller market in town).
This market was a mix of local farmer’s and vendors who buy produce and resell. We targeted the farmer’s and local meat vendors.
We came home with beef short ribs and ground beef from a local grassfed cattle farm, peaches and heirloom tomatoes. It was fun to wander around. Brandon was drawn to the Great Harvest table on the way out and this happened…
S’mores bar…he was kind enough to share a few bites and oh my god…it was one of the best things that I’ve had in a long time.
I worked the afternoon away at Starbucks…more details on that later.
I snacked on a Kind bar while I was there and had a Soy Awake Tea Latte.
To say that I was thrilled to come home to find dinner cooking and the house picked up would be an understatement. My husband is amazing.
Brandon braised the beef short ribs. I whipped up some rosemary garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed kale. Quick note here…I don’t eat a lot of red meat but last week Dr. Matz suggested that I try to incorporate a little more iron in my diet (from animal protein…not spinach!) in order to help my body recover a bit better. I’m pretty much willing to try anything at this point so that’s the motivation behind the meat purchases today! Brandon is not complaining. 😉
Do you ever purchase local meat?
Well, my just over one year old iPod has completely, 100% died with no hope of coming back to life. I took it to the Genius bar and they told me to restore it…yeah didn’t work. It’s actually worse now. Looks like a new iPod is in order. In the meantime, I’m off to figure out how to get a playlist on my iPhone for yoga tomorrow morning. Then crashing…I am exhausted.
Enjoy your Sunday!
