Pinning Away

Well, I had a feeling I could only ignore all of the talk about Pinterest and how amazing it is for so long before I falling victim to its addictive qualities and I was right.  The last thing I really need is another Internet time suck but I am loving Pinterest. Yes, it is easy to be drawn in and waste time but it’s also great for finding inspiration for everything from design to quotes to food and for organizing things I see around the Internet in one neat place.

That said, I need more people to follow! If you Pinterest, leave a link to your page please! 😛

And just for fun, here are some of my favorite things that I’ve Pinned so far.

A random mix but I love having all of these things in one place! One thing I am not Pinning is DIY. I know that’s huge on Pinterest but I have no patience (or time!) for DIY and any type of crafting. Give me cupcakes, quotes and yoga poses please! 🙂

I have limited my Pinterest time today and it’s been a pretty standard Monday over here for me. Taught BodyPump at the crack of dawn, practiced yoga, taught yoga and spent the afternoon at Metro.

There’s also been no shortage of delicious food.

Breakfast was a big (seriously giant) bowl of banana pumpkin oatmeal. I received a bag of Coach’s Oats a couple of weeks ago as a gift and this was my second time cooking them for breakfast.

The Coach’s Oats are designed to have the texture and taste of steel cut oats but with a very reduced cooking time. I only used 1/3 cup of oats, half of a banana and about 1/3 cup of pumpkin and look at how fluffy the oats were! Y’all know that I’ve always preferred old fashioned oats over steel cut but the Coach’s Oats are changing my mind!

I really wanted another open faced sandwich for lunch but I was having vegetable guilt so I made a colorful salad instead. Baby arugula mix with tempeh that I heated and slathered in Trader Joe’s Hot Honey Mustard, diced dried apricots, diced brie, avocado, almonds, carrots and honey balsamic vinaigrette. A couple apple slices on the side. Also, I was starving as I assembled my salad (it takes me foreverrrrrr to make salads) so I also ate a serving of Trader Joe’s Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips right out of the bag.

I wrapped up the day’s eats with pasta…doesn’t get much better than that! Spinach and cheese ravioli over spinach with tomato basil sauce and parmesan cheese. A piece of Great Harvest Dakota toast on the side.

Bachelor time! Yes, I’m still watching it… 😳

I’m holding out on Pinterest as long as I can but it looks so fun!

Trader Joe’s sells quick cook steel cut oats and they are delicious. Have you tried those? Not quite as chewy as the regular steel cut oats but still have a hearty texture and would be great with all of your mix ins.
