All The Food Things

Hello, hello! I just got back from an awesome 4.5 mile run with Zoey. I think 50 and sunny is hands-down my favorite running weather. It’s warm enough that you can wear shorts and lose the gloves but yet chilly enough that you don’t overheat and the crisp air feels energizing.

Don’t judge my hairline. After my hair fell out at an alarming rate after having Finn, it’s growing back but I have baby hairs sticking out all over like whoa.

The whole time I was running today, all I could think about was lunch. Does anyone else dream of food while running? When it works with my schedule, I love running right before lunch and then coming home, taking a hot shower and eating.

In the spirt of food, I wanted to share some food products/items/things that I’ve been enjoying lately because I know you guys like recommendations. Be sure to read to the end because I’m also sharing a toothy grin from a certain sweet baby!

FOOD PRODUCTS/ITEMS/THINGS I’M LOVING

Malt Vinegar and Sea Salt Avocado Oil Chips from Boulder Canyon

Someone stop me. These Malt Vinegar and Sea Salt Avocado Oil Chips from Boulder Canyon are so crunchy and so flavorful. I love salt and vinegar chips but the malt vinegar twist hear makes them not to pucker-ific (go with it) and the  vinegar has almost a slightly sweet undertone. Addictive.

Trader Joe's Organic Sweet Bread & Butter Pickles

Still going strong with my love for loading up my sandwiches with as many bread and butter pickles as possible. I just opened a jar of Trader Joe’s Organic Sweet Bread & Butter Pickles and they are super crunchy and sweet but not too sweet.

Alden's Organic Cookies & Cream Ice Cream

Whole Foods was out of their store brand cookies and cream so I splurged for the Alden’s Organic Cookies & Cream. It is very creamy and I appreciate that everything from the dairy to the cookies is organic.

Dave's Killer Bread Cinnamon Raisin Remix Bagels

Dave’s Killer Bread Cinnamon Raisin Remix Bagels. These bagels are amazing and Finn gobbles them down too. I like them toasted with salted butter, topped with nut butter and banana slices or with cream cheese.

Now, from my first four shares you’d think perhaps I was pregnant again but I assure you that nothing could be further from the truth.

Moving on 🙂

Bulletproof Collagen Protein Products

I ran into our local Bulletproof rep at Whole Foods a month or so ago and she recognized me from following on Instagram. I was buying the Bulletproof Collagen Protein when we met and she offered to send me a selection of their collagen protein products. I have tried them all and love them all…from the coffee beans to the cold brew to the bars. And I am flying through my container of unflavored collagen protein. I like it so much that I have been taking the single serve packets with me when I travel.

No-Bake Peanut Butter Collagen Protein Energy Bites

While we are on the topic of collagen protein, remember the energy bites I made with peanut butter and collagen protein a few weeks ago? Well, I have a stash of them in the freezer and they have been the most delicious thing to have on hand for an afternoon snack or evening treat. They’re packed with chia seeds, hemp hearts, flax seed, collagen protein and more. You must try them!

You also must try this nail color from OPI. My manicurist suggested it when I was getting my nails done on Monday. it’s a dark grayish/black/brown with subtle sparkles. It’s nice for a dark that has a little interest and isn’t your typical black or gray.

I needed a break from Dave’s Killer Bread Good Seed sandwich bread. When I stay with my grandmother she usually has Nature’s Own bread and I like it a lot so for the last few weeks I’ve been alternating between their whole wheat and honey wheat. I appreciate how soft it is and rarely toast or heat my sandwiches when using this bread. It’s also a great PBJ bread! I’m out of sourdough but planning to bake again on Friday morning. I can’t wait to have my freezer stocked again.

OH and I’ve also been on an apple kick. For a while there apples weren’t doing it for me but lately I’ve been eating all of the honeycrisp, pink lady and kanzi apples. I have one every day with my lunch. If you haven’t tried the kanzi variety, check them out! They’re a cross between gala and braeburn apples and super firm, crisp and sweet.

I couldn’t resist ending this post with a photo of Finn and his first tooth! The one next to it just cut through as well. He’s doing such a great job with eating lately and has started actually shoveling food into his mouth (you should have seen him the other night with avocado and a kale veggie burger!), chewing and swallowing instead of just playing with it and spitting it out! Gosh he is just the best meal company. I spend half of our meals giggling at his antics.

I’m teaching a double header tonight so off to get ready to head to the studio. It’s been so lovely to be back to teaching. <3

What food items/products/things are you loving lately? I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Favorite sandwich bread?

Do you use collagen protein?

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Potato and Broccoli Cheddar Soup

This potato and broccoli cheddar soup is a warm hug in a bowl. It’s a mash up of potato soup meets broccoli cheddar soup, and makes for a creamy, hearty and cheesy bowl that has just enough broccoli in it to make you feel like you’re getting your veggies in for a complete meal. POTATO [...]
