Friday Love

Happy Friday! I hope it’s been a good week for y’all. Per usual, mine passed in a blur of teaching, training, calls, meetings, content creating and momming. All the best things and my cup is so full right now. I feel like I’ve truly hit my stride in 2023 for the first time since pre-COVID – and maybe even pre-baby. I feel energized, creative and so in flow. I’m so hoppy what I have going on right now – and I have some big things on the horizon for the remainder of the year. Up and up. Let’s go!

I’ve got a few Friday favorites for you today.

QC YOGA

qc yoga Charlotte

I’m about two months into teaching at QC Yoga and I’m more than a little obsessed with my Monday night class. There is such an amazing vibe of community and inquiry/play. It feels like everyone rolls in totally as themselves with open minds and open hearts. I love, love, love teaching at Charlotte Yoga and it’s my yoga home but I have so enjoyed spreading my wings and joining the QC Yoga crew. I look forward to Mondays at 5:30 every week!

If you’re local to Charlotte, I recommend checking out QC Yoga if you’re looking for a smaller and more intimate studio atmosphere. We have some great power flow classes (definitely check out Sara and Danielle’s classes) and lots of hot deep stretch. The studio is on ClassPass.

Lastly, how pretty are all the lululemon mats that are laid out on the back row? I have one of these mats and they’re a great non-slip option for hot yoga. I like the 5mm thickness.

LASH PRIMER + UNREAL CHOCOLATES

easter basket

One of my clients surprised me with an Easter basket. She included things for me and something for Finn. It was all so thoughtful. She read my recent post about loving mascara and got me her favorite combo of primer and mascara. LOVING the primer big time – it makes such a big difference under the mascara.

Also, I’d never tried Unreal and let me tell you that their dark chocolate almond butter cups are to die for. Unreal makes chocolate snacks featuring minimal and simple ingredients with about 50% less sugar than leading brands – and NO artificial sugars. I’m a convert and will definitely be buying in the future. Can’t wait to try their peanut butter cups.

AN INTRODUCTION TO TRUVANI

truvani protein

Vani Hari (aka The Food Babe) has been popping into my yoga class at Charlotte Yoga. She surprised me last week with a bag full of products from her line Truvani. Everything is made from real food using super high-quality ingredients. No artificial anything and no toxins of any kind.

  • The Only Bar – made only from 8 simple ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. Gluten-free, dairy-free and plant based.
  • Plant Based Protein – each packet contains 20 grams of plant based protein and no weird ingredients.
  • Protein + Energy Drink – has 87 mg of caffeine, 12 grams of protein and adaptogens for a solidly healthy pick-me-up.

COMFORTABLE + STYLISH SUMMER SHOES

I recently partnered with Nordstrom and FitFlop for an Instagram post about FitFlop’s amazing lineup of comfortable and stylish shoes. Had to share here too because they are such a great option for the upcoming warm weather months.

FitFlop makes sandals, shoes, sneakers and boots that are biomechanically engineered to work with your body alignment and natural movement. I’m wearing the Eloise sandals in the photos above. They feature super soft cushioning and the platform is very lightweight. I know that I’ll get a ton of mileage out of the neutral color and wear them with everything from shorts to dresses all summer long.

I’m linking a few more of my favorite FitFlop styles below.

COLLAGEN + GREENS

bulletproof single serving packets

Promised y’all an update on my spring greens challenge. I was going to try and drink my Bulletproof greens drink every day for 30 days. Well, I made it a week and it’s been intermittent ever since. The good news is that I’m drinking more greens mix than I ever have before even if it’s not daily. I keep these single serve packets of greens and collagen in Florida. I am super consistent with my collagen and have it every single day either in my coffee or smoothie.

BE A FIRE AND NOT A PILOT LIGHT

I’ll wrap this post with these words that The Angry Therapist shared on Instagram. So good.

WEEKEND TIME

I’ve got Finn with me this weekend so we’ll get in lots of snuggles and QT. We have a fun little Finn + Mommy restaurant date planned tonight. 🙂 I hope y’all enjoy your weekend too!

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
