Hi and happy Friday! I’ve had a really good week…work was steady busy but not crazy busy…which is always nice. I’ve REALLY been working on cutting back and being smarter about how I arrange my schedule. It’s working!
This afternoon I had the BRILLIANT idea to add chocolate chips and dried cranberries to my peanut butter granola. I left out the chia seeds because after I added chocolate…what was really the point? It definitely crossed the line from marginally healthy to dessert-like!
I had a fun week in regards to yoga. First, I practiced every day but Thursday and second, I had some “celebrity” yoga experiences.
I was super pumped to have Carson Clay Calhoun and his girlfriend drop in for my 5:45 p.m. hot vinyasa at Charlotte Yoga on Thursday evening. They were stopping through Charlotte on their way to Charleston and asked on Instagram for yoga class recommendations. I was flattered to have my class suggested by several and even more flattered that they came! His practice is beautiful (as is his girlfriend!). The highlight of the evening was when he said my music was perfect…the songs, the volume, the beat. (Y’all know how much time I put into my playlists!) He said, “it was bumping but I could still hear every word you said.” I work hard on finding that perfect balance! 😉
And today I got to practice yoga with Andy Grammer! He took the class with us and then sang his new song “Honey I’m Good” during savasana. I’ve been lucky to hang out with Andy a few times over the past few years and attend a lot of his shows and he is an all-around great guy. Super personable and really, really talented. I am always amazed by his voice when he starts singing.
The other highlight of my week was this. I train clients at 5:30 a.m. every morning at Metro Fitness Club and one of our members who always works out at that time was telling me about his new puppy. I begged him to bring her in and OMG…is she not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen!? Those wrinkles! Her name is Lily and she’s an eight week old shar pei.
While we are on the topic of dogs…and Instagram…
I have had multiple people suggest that I make a separate Instagram account for the girls. I scrolled through my feed and it definitely is a little heavy on the golden retrievers. Thoughts about that? Do you like the mix of everything or would you rather see more food and fitness on my personal Instagram and a Sullie + Zoey golden retriever extravaganza on another account? As much as I want to believe that everyone is as big of a dog person as me…I know that’s not the case! 🙂
By the way…I am obsessed with Instagram. It’s definitely become my top social media pick. I can’t even handle Twitter anymore. It happens too fast and is too overwhelming!
Have a fabulous weekend!
