Friday From My iPhone

Happiest of Fridays!

First, can I just say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for being so supportive and awesome during my Whole30? I know many of you are waiting for my program recap and I promise it is coming on Monday. The most important thing is that my eyes are clear for the first time in 2 years so for that I am so, so, so grateful.

I’m going to end the week on a lighter note and share some shots from my iPhone.

Okay, first. Let’s talk about iPhones. I just got the 6S Plus and it is buggy! Don’t get me wrong, I love the phone (the display and camera are awesome!) but I’m having hard time with a few things…

  1. The screen gets stuck in horizontal orientation and will not switch no matter how much shaking and tapping I do. (And I have ensured that I have standard zoom and unlocked the screen rotation.)
  2. The thumb unlock is temperamental. (Maybe I need to redo the scan?)
  3. While I was in Florida it shut off and wouldn’t turn back on without a hard restart.

Given that I’ve only had the phone for two weeks, I’m a little nervous! Anyone else had issues?

(Side note: please ignore the 8,000+ gmail notifications. I’m bad but I’m not that bad. That account has pretty much turned to junk.)

Four friend dates this week, two of which involved babies. I am in the midst of a major connection phase right now on all fronts but friends and family are leading the charge.

Girl’s nights have changed a little but for the better. 😉

I checked out the new Sunflour location in Charlotte and enjoyed a hot cup of mint tea while I knocked out our email newsletter for the yoga studio before meeting another friend for lunch.

cprrecert

CPR, first aid, AED and oxygen recertification at the Y. Every.Single.Year. They are so strict on their standards but every time I do it I feel so grateful to have the knowledge and skills. Even simulating the skills gives me chills when I think about possibly having to do it in real life.

I was featured in a local magazine as part of a wellness series for the new year. I shared meal ideas and a video of my popular 1,000 rep home workout so be sure to check it out. I’m wearing the most fierce “Lion Tights” from The Track & Field Store Charlotte. They are equal parts functional and fashionable!

One of my readers emailed me to let me know she was adopting an 8-year-old golden from a rescue and asked for advice of things like food, toys, grooming, etc. I got crazy excited and asked her to send pics. Look how happy this sweet boy is in his new home!

Another reader spotted my book in Whole Foods in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I lived there for a year after college so pretty awesome to have it being sold there!

We’ll just close with this. Made me smile! 🙂

What are your weekend plans?

What made you smile this week?

Three Days in Scottsdale + Climbing Camelback Mountain

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a month since I ran the Every Woman’s Marathon! One of the fun things about this year’s race was getting to visit Scottsdale, Arizona. It was my first time in Arizona and while it was a quick trip, I tried to maximize my time there. Here’s a [...]

Your Last-Minute Gift Guide For Everyone

In keeping with tradition, I’m coming in hot with a last-minute gift guide. As much as I’d like to think that one day I’ll be the kind of person who has their holiday shopping done before Black Friday…it’s just not a likely scenario. And I’m okay with that! I hope this list helps you finish [...]

I am settled in back at home after a very special Thanksgiving in Florida. I cherish all of our trips to Florida but this one was extra meaningful because we had a bigger holiday crew this year. My cousin’s family came down and it was just the best to have a big tableful of people [...]

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

I am on a three-hour flight home from Scottsdale so it seems like the perfect time to relive and recap yesterday’s Every Woman’s Marathon experience. I had a great day and I’m very proud of the race that I ran. It was a practice in “fun running” and that not every race effort has to [...]
