What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Get ready for a big Trader Joe’s haul! I honestly can’t remember the last time I grocery shopped at Trader Joe’s. It’s been many months. Sadly, there’s just not a store location that fits in my daily rhythm so I have to make a special trip to get there. It was great to restock on many of my faves and to add a few new things to my cart!

FROZEN FOODS

Let’s start with the frozen foods because I believe this is where Trader Joe’s truly shines. No other grocery store compares! I had to really practice self-control because my freezer was already pretty full.

best Trader Joe's frozen foods
  • Butter Chicken – my favorite of the Trader Joe’s frozen Indian entrees. I like this one even better than the Chicken Tikka Masala.
  • Burrata, Prosciutto and Arugula Flatbread – always get this!
  • Steamed Pork and Ginger Soup Dumplings – if you haven’t tried these yet, you must!
  • Mixed Mushroom Medley
  • Kimbap – I have seen this all over Instagram and had to finally give it a try. I’ll report back.
  • Gluten-Free Chicken Nuggets – these are hands-down my favorite chicken nuggets of all the nuggets (I don’t care that they’re gluten-free – I just think they taste great!). I usually air-fry them and add them to my salads.
  • Gorgonzola Gnocchi – so great for whipping up a quick gnocchi skillet like this one.
  • Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry – this is a good easy dinner made with ground pork/chicken/turkey and a scrambled egg.
  • Vegetable Fried Rice – same as above
  • Almond Croissants – impulse purchase and my first time trying
  • Peas – just because they’re so easy to throw into many dishes

REFRIGERATED ITEMS

Trader Joe's meats
  • Sweet Apple and Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage
  • Extra-Firm Sprouted Tofu
  • Cilantro Dressing – I like to drizzle this on bowls
  • Dill Pickle Spears
  • High Protein Tofu
  • Salmon
  • Pork Tenderloin
  • Pesto Chicken Breasts
  • Feta
  • Parmesan

PANTRY ITEMS

Trader Joe's pantry staples

  • Plantain Chips
  • Cane Sugar
  • Panko
  • Olive Oil
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Peanut Butter Cups
  • Candied Pecans
  • Midnight Moo Chocolate Syrup – I’ve been drinking chocolate milk after my runs and Finn loves it on his ice cream
  • Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Bites – I like that these are individually wrapped! I tried one after lunch today and it was pretty good but I don’t know that I’d purchase again.
  • Well Rested Tea – love this
  • Snacky Clusters – these are a repeat purchase and drool-worthy
  • Kitchari – one of my fave 90 second heat and eats
  • Dolmades – Trader Joe’s stuffed grape leaves are always a hit
  • Naan
  • Orzo

PANTRY + MISC

Trader Joe's haul
  • Sunflowers – these were on sale for $4.99 and I couldn’t resist
  • Nutritional Yeast
  • Everyday Seasoning Grinder
  • Pepita Salsa
  • Sun-dried Tomatoes
  • Sparkling Water
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Spaghetti Noodles
  • Lightly Smoked Canned Salmon – this is BY FAR my favorite canned fish. It’s a big flaky piece of fish and delicious on salads.
  • White Miso Paste
  • Basmati Rice – our favorite variety. We fly through rice in this house.

PRODUCE

Trader Joe's produce

Produce haul was very light today because I’ve been doing most of my produce shopping at the farmers market this summer.

  • Romaine Hearts
  • Bananas
  • Avocados
  • Cherries

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

Breakfast + What I Bought at Trader Joe’s

I am such a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. 95% of the time I’m craving a breakfast that is on the sweet side. That mostly alternates between smoothies or yogurt bowls with overnight oats, chia pudding or oatmeal occasionally thrown in there. On the rare occasion I go savory – it’s scrambled [...]

Life Lately: Summer So Far

Life Lately: Summer So Far

I want to bottle up this summer and make it last forever (well, maybe minus the wildly hot and humid weather that makes running a big thumbs down). I mentioned this in my last post…but I am really enjoying the slower pace and the days that feel like they have more space. While I’m trying [...]

So Many Dinner Ideas

Happy Friday! I hope this post finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are in the dog days of it over here in Charlotte – the heat and humidity is off the charts – but it’s something I’ll embrace because I deeply appreciate the massive slow down that summer has brought. A lot of [...]

Life Lately: 8 Years Old, A New Piercing, Trail Training and More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a very rainy one here in Charlotte and while I am a little bummed not to be spending the weekend in Florida with the fam or by the pool at our swim club (just opened for the season!), I’m also welcoming a slower pace and time at home. It’s been [...]
