I am currently parked at my favorite local bakery for what I like to call “power hour.” It’s a no distractions, hammer through the to-do list and get sh*t done mission…aided by a oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a soy cappuccino.
Short tangent. Sometimes I think to myself that I’m going to cut back on the amount of treats I eat…but then I decide it’s just not worth it. Life is too short and the joy I get from them is too great. So I’ll keep eating my cookies, chocolate and cupcakes and being happy! 🙂
Okay, I have a new playlist to share with you that I’m pretty obsessed with. It’s definitely one of the best I have put together recently.

We’ll ignore that this is on the 50 Shades of Grey Soundtrack and focus on how amazing Ellie Goulding is. Forever my fave! I rarely make a playlist without one of her songs.
And yes, you read right when you saw “Duncan Sheik” on the list. Throwback but so good! I heard “She Runs Away” on my Sirius XM radio a few weeks ago and had to bring it back to life.

I say keep right on eating the cookies! Brownies, cookies, and ice cream make me happy (in addition to giant salads, grilled chicken, and roasted veggies) so I’m definitely not cutting them out of my life 🙂

Thanks for the great new-to-me music! I only recently signed up for Spotify but am still using the free version. I seem to be buying more and more songs via iTunes, though, so I might have to re-think that. A couple of songs I recently added to my Spinning playlists are “I Lived” by OneRepublic and “Geronimo” by Sheppard. I keep encouraging my class to watch the “I Lived” video for some cycling motivation/inspiration if they haven’t seen it yet!
LOVE that you always keep it real and don’t deprive yourself! I am in Boston surrounded by 2 feet of snow, so hunkering down all day indoors means instant cravings for comfort food and baking! 🙂 I’m 100% always in the say-yes-to-the-cookie camp!

I will never give up cookies or a good dessert. Would be a really sad sad day. I can’t see going out and not having what I enjoy, I mean, what would be the point in life? lol. Seriously though. I run enough, eat “healthy” enough that having what I love when I want to is completely acceptable and essential.

Love Push pull by Purity Ring, I’ve actually been using it for my at home yoga flows lately 🙂 Spotify is the best, I find it simpler than itunes is. I really like the idea of “power hour” and think I might end up adopting that for my own benefit… sometimes the infamous to-do list can get out of hand.
