Happy “The Life of a Showgirl” day to all those celebrating! I have made my way through the new album and upon first listen – I like it! I will be team teaching a special Taylor Swift Album Release Party sculpt class at the gym this evening so that should be a ton of fun. The cutest thing was Finn’s elementary school playing Taylor Swift over the outdoor loudspeakers this morning as all the kids arrived!
This weekend I’ll be heading off to Johnson City, Tennessee to guest instruct at Real Hot Yoga. I have a few trips to the visit East Tennessee planned for the coming months and I’m really looking forward to seeing all of my yoga friends in the area and meeting new ones! 🙂
Before I head back to the gym to wrap up my workweek and head to TN, here’s a big catch up on what we’ve been up to for the last couple of weeks!
LONG WEEKEND IN FLORIDA
Finn and I spent a Wednesday-Sunday in Florida visiting my family and it was just the best. We haven’t seen everyone since July 4 and it just seemed too long to wait until Thanksgiving.
Of course we time hanging with Mema…who is doing pretty darn well for 95 and a half!
We had pretty sunshine. It was still really hot down there – mid 80s and the gulf temp was super warm too so we got lots of beaching in.
Relaxation in the form of morning coffee and laptop time on the balcony, magazines and puzzles. Over the last few years Good Housekeeping has become my favorite magazine and I officially feel every bit of in my 40s.
Running and rainbows. <3 I recently had to take a couple of weeks off of running (no injuries, thank goodness) and it felt SO goo to get back out there. I’m in the home stretch for the Every Woman’s Marathon and need a strong six weeks of running leading up to it.
It’s always so hard to say goodbye but I’m so grateful for the time that we had and Thanksgiving will be here before we know it.
LIFE AROUND CHARLOTTE
This week we’ve been busy with soccer, teacher workdays and more running! I have been in a great cadence of running every other day. Finn joined me yesterday for three miles easy. He rode his scooter and we did a 9:15 pace! I was really moving to keep up with him at times. I did five rounds of hill sprints on our street afterwards and Finn was a great coach. “It’s not time for a break yet mommy, keep the pace.” lol
I’ve been teaching a lot of fitness and yoga and training clients – per usual – and I love it! Just added a Wednesday morning double to my schedule at 5:15a and 6:20a and whew…5:15a is E-A-R-L-Y! (I had an instructor transition out of the time slot and I need to cover it for now…hopefully not forever!) FYI, my brown set is OYSHO and I really like this brand a lot! I just bought a selection of tops, leggings and casual wear and it’s all cute and fits well…and cheaper than Alo, Vuori and lululemon.
Finn and I both got haircuts this week! I think he looks so handsome with a short cut and I got two inches off and feeling fresh!
THAT’S A WRAP!
That does it for me. Off to prep for the Taylor Swift sweat fest and get packed up for my trip! Hoping to catch some miles on the AT Sunday afternoon before I drive back. I’ll see y’all on the other side!
Have you listened to The Life of a Showgirl yet? Thoughts?
Do you still read magazines? If so, favorites?
What activewear brand have you been wearing a lot lately?

Hi! Where do you get your hair cut now? Does Terra still come to CLT to do it? I was a former Terra client and LOVED her!!
So I have been seeing Viviani at Salon 8 and LOVE her but Terra still comes to Charlotte sometimes. Text her and she’ll let you know when. LMK if you need her number!
Magazines: Southern Living, Real Simple, The Mew Yorker, and Better Homes and Gardens. So glad magazines are still around.
Kids magazines: The Week Junior and Nat Geo Kids.
Have you listened to The Life of a Showgirl yet? Thoughts? Not yet! My boyfriend and I are driving to LA tomorrow for me to get highlighted and him to get a cut. I’ll listen to it then.
Do you still read magazines? If so, favorites? I don’t. I mostly get all of my fashion influence from Reddit, IG, and TikTok.
What activewear brand have you been wearing a lot lately? Almost exclusively Alo. I just love the way it looks on my petite 5’1″ frame. You really have to shop in store to make sure the quality is on par (very hit or miss) opposed to online.
I looooooove magazines, and have forever. I hate that so many of my favorites went out of print: In Style, Lucky, Domino. I know they sometimes have $15(!) special issues, but it’s not the same! Now, I read mostly People and Real Simple!
My new favorite magazines are from
Stampington press…in her studio and in her garden! No ads either!
