Hola and happy Friday! I know that many of you are gearing up to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this weekend. I’m pretty pumped for a Mexican feast of my own in Chicago tonight. I promised you a weekend workout and this one is all about the high intensity cardio to help you balance out all of those chips and margaritas.
This workout varies run or row intervals with an increasing rep scheme of bodyweight exercises. The intention is for this workout to be performed at a higher intensity level. Don’t burn yourself out sprinting the first run but find a pace that’s a little more challenging than norma. This workout should be quick, challenging and leave you wiped out in a pool of sweat!
If you’re totally insane, do this 2x through but maybe back off the pace a bit. As always, report back on how it goes for you.
I want to share a workout format with you today that I sometimes use when training clients or programming circuit classes. It's called "4-3-2-1" and provides a good cardio strength workout that keeps you moving and sweating. Here's the basic breakdown of how it works. 4 minutes of cardio -…

I love incorporating running and plyometrics with strength training! It feels like you are getting so much done in a short period of time and building up your endurance, strength, and of course blasting away all those delicious margaritas that were consumed. Have a great weekend away!

I love incorporating plyos into my runs. I’ll do that inside the gym or on the street–I get alot of stares and honks! ;). No Cinco plans….I’ve got to teach group ex classes all afternoon.

This was awesome! Did it 2x’s and replaced box jumps with push-ups (no bench by the track) felt great to mix it up!!
