I’ve been running. And I just totaled up my mileage for the week and it was 23.75. Trust me, I’m just as shocked as most of you probably are to hear this news.
Sunday: 5 outside on Christmas 🙂
Monday : 4 treadmill
Thursday: 5.5 outside
Friday: 3 outside
Saturday: 6.25 outside on New Year’s Eve
Running has been feeling good both physically and mentally recently so I’ve been working to slowly increase my mileage while being mindful of injury potential.
Today’s run was perfect. It was 60 degrees and sunny. Hard to believe that it’s December 31. I covered 6.25 miles and maintained around an 8:30 pace. That seems to be my average lately with every run coming in close to that pace.
Given my storied history with running injuries, I am grateful for ever pain-free run. I am going to take a day off of running tomorrow since I’ve had three days in a row on now. I know that’s pushing it and I want to be able to continue this streak in the new year! 😛
My run was pretty much the biggest thing I accomplished today. I woke up at 8 a.m. but kept falling back asleep. I didn’t make it out of bed until 9:15. I proceeded to stay in my pajamas until I changed to run at 3:30. I did get lots of cleaning done and Christmas went away.
Breakfast was plain Greek yogurt with TJs pumpkin butter, chia seeds, banana, granola, dried cranberries and sunflower butter.
And pre-run fuel was a piece of toast with Wild Squirrel Pretzel Pizzaz Peanut Butter (<– obsessed…must order more) and honey.
It’s 6:45 on New Year’s Eve and I’m sitting on the couch blogging in my robe. I think it’s time to finally figure out what we’re doing to ring in 2012.
Hope it’s a fun evening for everyone!
