Weekend + A KIND Start to the Week {Giveaway}

Hi! Keep on reading for a sweet giveaway from my friends at KIND.

My weekend was relaxed and full of the normal stuff…yoga, golden retrievers, food. I stayed in on Friday night, ate Vietnamese take out and watched Gone Girl (well, half of Gone Girl…I fell asleep). It was kind of amazing.

weekendbabyshower

I taught two yoga classes on Saturday morning and then wandered around Buy Buy Baby for an hour trying to find a shower gift for a friend. That store overwhelms me!!! The shower was really lovely and had a cute Poo theme. The cake was lemon raspberry from Tizzerts and the shower favors were little jars of honey.

zoeyweekendcollage2Zoey was in maximum cuteness mode over the weekend. She’s at a really fun stage right now and I am enjoying her little personality and playful spirit. I bought her some new toys at Home Goods and she was super excited about them. I also discovered that she loves asparagus. Crazy puppy.

3.23peacockI taught yoga again on Sunday morning. I taught my class peacock pose. It’s a pretty intense wrist and core strengthener and it’s also great and stimulating for the digestive system. The arm positioning feels really uncomfortable at first but once you get comfortable getting into the pose, it’s fun to work on and try to find balance in.

I have been teaching Sunday mornings for four years! I’m thinking about taking a summer sabbatical from the class so that I can have one morning a week to sleep in, lounge and do whatever I want to do.

3.23bacon

After teaching I came home and made Sunday brunch. The highlight of which was bacon!!! I absolutely adore the thick sliced applewood smoked bacon from ALDI.

3.23brunch

While I do enjoy going out for brunch, I also like making it at home. Easy and much cheaper than going out! I made an omelet with feta, spinach, tomatoes, artichokes and olives and topped it off with avocado.

I thought it would be fun to kick off the week with a giveaway.

Kind Bars

I was recently sent a selection of bars from KIND’s new “Nuts & Spices” line to sample.

The flavors I tried included:

– Caramel Almond & Sea Salt
– Dark Chocolate Chili Almond
– Madagascar Vanilla Almond
– Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt
– Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt

kind bars nuts and spices

I have always been a fan of KIND bars and they are a go-to snacking option for me but this was my first time trying the Nuts & Spices line. WOW! They were so good! Y’all know I am a big fan of anything sweet + salty so my favorite flavors were Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt and Caramel Almond & Sea Salt. All of the bars from this line contain 5 grams of sugar or less.

KIND has generously offered 15% off a case of these bars and free shipping with the code KINDSPRING. (Limit one per customer, good until 3/27.) I’m also giving away a variety pack of 12 bars from the Nuts & Spices line. If you’d like to be entered to win leave a comment telling me which flavor you’d like to sample (check them all out here) AND one thing you’re grateful for this week! U.S. readers only. Open until 3/27.

I’m grateful for my friends, family, students and blog readers who pre-ordered my book and are sending me pictures and notes as their books arrive! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have an amazing week everyone!

KIND provided me with bars to sample for this post.

They all look so good so to pick one that I would love to try is hard. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to try them all. However, The maple glazed pecan makes me smile since maple is a favorite flavor of mine.

I had a pretty relaxed weekend as well but am so Thankful for it. Sometimes its just nice not having anything scheduled. Saturday, my husband, son and I went to the outlet mall since the weather was nice and later that evening I got to enjoy an amazing date night with my husband. Sunday as a family we went to the gym, had breakfast and then walked the zoo for the first time this season. I am super Thankful for all the family time I was spoiled with and also Pretty thankful for God blessing us with nice weather.

The caramel almond and sea salt sounds amazing! I’m grateful for my body for overcoming my fears and anxiety going into the Syracuse half marathon this past Sunday. Temperatures were lower than I normally run in (17 felt like 0 with 15mph winds) and Ive never run more than a few miles in those temperatures – let alone 2 hours! It didn’t help that I wasn’t properly trained either – but I surprised myself and did much better than my goal – was a few minutes off of a PR – but given the circumstances, I am grateful for my body and what it’s capable of withstanding. Now off to keep training for my next half in 2.5 weeks!
