New Teaching Opportunities

Happy weekend! It’s a beautiful day here in Charlotte. I kicked it off with an early morning yoga practice, Starbucks and a trip to the farmer’s market to stock up on veggies. I love summer Saturdays!

We were out late last night so I didn’t get a chance to update so here is the scoop on my Friday.

I had a lunch meeting at Flex + Fit. It’s a new gym opening in uptown Charlotte with a very cool concept. It’s totally class based – culinary classes, a hot yoga studio, a group ex room and a big spin space with a big projector screen. The reason for my meeting? I’m going to be teaching there! (Yes, I know…how can I possibly add more to my jam-packed schedule? It will all work out…breathe… :))

The space looks amazing. The yoga studio is beautiful! I’ll be teaching hot vinyasa, yoga for athletes and buff yoga (yoga with weights). I’m so excited to get started – they are opening in just a couple weeks. I think it will be fun to teach some new class formats.

I stopped by Berrybrook Farm to pick up lunch on my way back to the office. One of my favorite sandwiches in Charlotte – chickenless chicken salad. Organic apple on the side (I swear, they taste 1,000x better than conventional).

And a kombucha for a Friday treat. It’s a treat because they are $4 a pop! On par with a Starbucks stop!

We had a cocktail party to attend last night for Brandon’s friend Anna who is getting married today.

Brandon and I grabbed a glass of wine and food at Dolcetto before the party since it didn’t begin until 9 p.m.

We went with the Taste of Dolcetto that came with bruschetta, a trio of hummus and pita and cheese, crackers and fruit.

I love snacking plates like this. It was a lovely evening to sit outside.

The cocktail party was so nice and it was great to catch up with friends that we don’t see often.  Here is Brandon with the glowing bride-to-be!

I love wedding festivities!

And then I went with this guy and a some friends for late night pizza. Where I may or may not have had a couple slices of pepperoni and mushroom pizza! 😉

Off to enjoy this day! Can’t wait for the wedding tonight!

I am intrigued by the thought of ‘yoga with weights.’ Once you start teaching I would love to learn more about the concept!

Those classes sound amazing! I’m so jealous that I don’t have studios like that around. You’ll fit it all in your schedule, don’t worry!

YOu are so lucky to live in a place that has so much opportunity! I can’t wait to get out of my state (I have three more years of college!) so that I can live in an area where there are places like Flex + Fit. 🙂

Congrats on the new teaching gig! I actually have a meeting there Tuesday or Wednesday to get a tour and do a review on them for The Charlotte Moms blog I write for. I’m excited to check it out! And I’ll have to come take a class once the baby arrives… just don’t make fun at my lack of ability 😉
