A Much Better Day

Today was a much better day. Eight hours of sleep was just what I needed to get my day started right. Sometimes it’s nice to give myself a break from the 5 a.m. wake up calls and sleep in a bit.I finally rolled out of bed and got ready for work at 7:45 this morning. It was fabulous.

Breakfast at my desk was hot oatmeal…which I have been eating very little of since our temperatures have been in the upper 90s every day. I put a summer spin on it by featuring blueberries and peaches in the mix.

I came home for lunch and enjoyed my meal outside.

A slice of Great Harvest Whole Grain Goodness with hummus, avocado, spinach and cheese. Pita chips, carrots and a nectarine on the side.

After my rest day yesterday, I was eager to get to the gym after work. I ran 2.5 miles (with ZERO hamstring pain) on the treadmill before teaching BodyPump with one of my favorite co-instructors, Andre.

Class was great although I was  having one of those days where what I think and what comes out of my mouth were two totally different things. Oh well! My legs are very happy that today was the last time I have to teach BodyPump 78 for a while. Killer squat and lunge tracks!!!

I met up with my yoga teacher training group after class for a little get together. I enjoyed some delicious red wine and great conversation. It was great to see everyone – they are my yoga family! :P

My sweet husband had dinner waiting when I got home. He made all the fixings for tacos but I decided to turn mine into taco salad. Lettuce, refried black beans, chicken, avocado, salsa and light sour cream on top of tortilla chips.

And my BIG news…I was featured as a “Fit Blogger We Love” on Fitness Magazine’s website today!!!

I am so excited and honored! I put so much time into my blog and LOVE sharing my life with you guys!

I got to sleep in yesterday and it felt great. I wasn’t groggy at all throughout the day.
