Today is the official first day of summer and I couldn’t be happier. Summer is hands down my favorite season of the year. I can’t get enough of the long days, warm weather and everything that goes along with it.
Here’s a look at what I’ve been loving lately as we welcome summer.
Tomato sandwiches with mayo, basil, avocado and lots of salt on soft bread. I have eaten one for lunch every day for the last three days. There are not even words to adequately describe how superior homegrown tomatoes are to the sad grocery store versions.
Comfy sundresses and long skirts. I’ve been throwing them on any chance I get to take a break from my gym/workout wardrobe.
Iced coffee. I have never been an iced coffee fan in the past but for whatever reason it’s all I want right now. My go to has been unsweetened with a splash of vanilla soy.
Yeah, no surprise on what I’m loving here. 😉 (Although I am not loving picking paint colors…too many choices!)
Amos Lee radio on Pandora. Non-stop. Perfect soundtrack for my summer.
Outdoor yoga classes. I had the honor of leading “Yoga in the Meadow” this morning. It was a donation based class organized by a friend of mine to support Rohr Rockstars.

I themed the class around living intentionally and presently from a place of love and passion and not fear and anxiety. When I asked the class what pose they were most scared of and they responded with a resounding answer of “handstands,” I informed them we would be working on handstands (with no wall!). Fearless! 🙂
I have said this about a million times but I’m so grateful to teach yoga and to be a part of the Charlotte yoga community.
Happy summer everyone!
What are you loving as summer kicks off?

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a month since I ran the Every Woman’s Marathon! One of the fun things about this year’s race was getting to visit Scottsdale, Arizona. It was my first time in Arizona and while it was a quick trip, I tried to maximize my time there. Here’s a [...]

In keeping with tradition, I’m coming in hot with a last-minute gift guide. As much as I’d like to think that one day I’ll be the kind of person who has their holiday shopping done before Black Friday…it’s just not a likely scenario. And I’m okay with that! I hope this list helps you finish [...]

I am settled in back at home after a very special Thanksgiving in Florida. I cherish all of our trips to Florida but this one was extra meaningful because we had a bigger holiday crew this year. My cousin’s family came down and it was just the best to have a big tableful of people [...]
