A Different Kind of Lately

Hi and we made it to Friday. What a week!!!

Y’all, for the first time in three years I worked 40 hours in a week in an office job and I’m IN LOVE! I am so passionate about this new project that I’m working on. It’s totally lighting me up.

Today was our big launch day and it went so well! We did a “site takeover” of the Charlotte Observer to direct everyone to our new Run Charlotte Run site. Social media was booming too and we drove a lot of traffic to our new Facebook page. It’s been a totally insane but totally amazing week.

On top of the work stuff, my house has been full of painters and contractors all week. I was THRILLED to come home to yellow walls in my bathroom tonight. Loving this pop of color in my otherwise pretty neutral house.

I’ve been eating salads from Crisp at my desk most days for lunch. Discovering that they have a $5 “small” option has been pretty life changing. They are so generous with the toppings and there’s nothing about it that’s small.

Dinner/evenings have been really social. On Tuesday night I went to a special yoga class at the Ritz Carlton that one of my friends was teaching. We practiced in the 18th floor studio with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city. Pretty sweet!

I went out for Thai food after.

Wine down Wednesday at a friends house with tons of yogis (and tons of dips…they just kept coming as the night went on…as did the wine).

I met a friend for dinner at Lulu tonight. It was my first time there and I really enjoyed it and will be back in a heartbeat. We started with a cheese plate.

And then I had the quiche and salad. I absolutely loved that I got my own mini quiche. How fun! It was delicious too. The pasty was so light and fluffy.

So, if you can’t tell the last couple of weeks have been a total change of pace for me but a really welcome one. I’m still training and teaching in the mornings and evenings but this new project is really so engaging and fun.

Excited for Friday. I have good weekend travel plans. 🙂

What do you have planned for the weekend?

Goodbye Sweet Zoey

I am sitting down to write this post with teary eyes and a heavy heart. On New Year’s Eve we said goodbye to Zoey. It seems like only yesterday that I brought this fluffy nugget home. Many of you have been here with me since Zoey was a puppy. She was the sweetest little sister [...]

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a month since I ran the Every Woman’s Marathon! One of the fun things about this year’s race was getting to visit Scottsdale, Arizona. It was my first time in Arizona and while it was a quick trip, I tried to maximize my time there. Here’s a [...]
