Weekend Away: Home in Georgia

I spent the weekend in Georgia visiting my grandmother and parents who were also in town visiting. Getting out of Charlotte was just what the doctor ordered. Here are some photos from my weekend.

I stopped at Om Yoga on my way out of town to pick up my paycheck and couldn’t resist a stop by Cupcrazed for a little treat for the road. I chose a carrot cake cupcake and it was super delicious.

A little under four hours later I arrived at my grandmother’s house and my dad had a Kosmic Karma pizza waiting for me from Mellow Mushroom. This is such an addicting combo of red sauce, feta, mozzarella, roma tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, spinach and pesto swirl.

Breakfast both mornings I was there was plain greek yogurt with honey, granola, dried cranberries and strawberries.

Lunch both days was a tomato sandwich with fresh farmers market heirloom tomatoes and avocado. I also had some leftover plantains my dad had cooked earlier in the week.

My dad and I shopped for and cooked Saturday night dinner together. We did caprese salad with farmers market tomatoes, grilled asparagus and steak. My grandmother and I had bacon wrapped filet. My mom and dad had ribeye. We had freshly baked ciabatta bread from the farmers market on the side with some salted butter.

We also baked a peach cake for dessert that was so light, summery and good!

Sullie was pretty much in heaven hanging out with my parent’s golden Sam. Please check out that drool as she was begging (bad dog!) for lunch on Saturday.

And she loves my grandmother. She did NOT want to get in the car today to go back to Charlotte and stood at my grandmother’s back door wanting to go in while I called her to get in the car. She usually loves car trips so you know Mema’s house is somewhere special! 🙂

I’m back in Charlotte now and prepping for the week ahead. I’m getting in the groove with my new job so this week should be a little more chill than the last two, which is welcome!

Hope y’all had a great weekend! xoxo
