I finally came home from the beach today. I was originally supposed to return Tuesday. Then I stayed until Wednesday. Then Wednesday rolled around and I was still in my PJs working at 3 p.m. I decided it was a better plan to hit the beach for a few hours and have one last family dinner and then head home first thing Thursday. A big THANK YOU to my clients for being so understanding and flexible! 🙂
This trip was so what I needed and delivered by the universe at just the right time. I have to give most of the credit to my amazing friend who followed up with me at least 10 times on whether I’d cleared my calendar to come. I’m really bad at a) justifying getting away and b) feeling like I’m putting people out. But she was right. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. I don’t think I have smiled so much or felt so carefree in a really long time. I plan to hold on to this lightness for as long as I can.
My favorite evening of the trip was spending sunset floating in the canal behind the house.
There were too many laughs to count. This really might have been my overall favorite day of 2014 start to finish so far. It was that good.
I let my hair loose.
Along with my “clean eating.” Bagels with butter, ice cream sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly, pasta. All good.
I am so spoiled and always seem to travel with amazing photographers. I have some really special shots from this trip. I especially love this dancer. I was balancing on a railing on the beach access.
And I have some fun paddleboard yoga shots to share later. For now, how about the fun of falling off. 🙂
It was really hard to say goodbye this morning.
Especially when you’re welcomed home by this. My cabinets were being painted while I was gone so the entire contents of my cabinets are strewn all over the house.
Like, literally all over the house. And I think I’m in for a MAJOR cabinet purge before half this crap goes back in.
I had to take a deep breath. Look at the chaos. And then move on. Which is basically my strategy for dealing with…everything right now. Things are always going to be changing, chaotic and a little crazy. But there’s WAY too much good stuff out there worth smiles and happiness to get bogged down by a little mess! 🙂
