Tuesday in the Life

Here’s a random day in the life for ya!

4:55 a.m. – alarm goes off

5 a.m. – second alarm goes off. Get up and let Zoey out of her crate and take her outside. Make a cup of tea and eat some banana with peanut butter. Get dressed for the gym with Zoey’s help. She’s being unusually calm.

5:25 a.m. – Zoey and I load up and head to the gym to train clients.

5:30 a.m. – train client #1, male in late 30s that’s been training with me for 18 months

6:30 a.m. – train client #2, female in early 30s that’s been with me for nearly 2 years. Pregnant with second baby.

7:15 a.m. – home for breakfast. I make banana egg white oatmeal.

7:30 a.m. – eat breakfast and write a Super Bowl healthier snack idea post that’s due today.

8:45 a.m. – send in post and get ready to go teach yoga

9:05 a.m. – Starbucks for coffee. Over four hours into the day and just getting my first caffeine fix!

9:15 a.m. – teach a 75 minute hot vinyasa class

10:45 a.m. – leave studio and head home for a run. It’s in the 50s and sunny! I run a little over 4 miles but pace is a little slow at 8:45 today because I was feeling a little sore and stiff from yesterday’s workout. Still felt great! Shower quickly after run, throw hair in a wet braid and get dressed.

Noon – yoga studio management team meeting

lunch salad and soup

1 p.m. – home for lunch. Salad with arugula, spinach, edamame, strawberries, avocado, almonds, goat cheese, cucumbers, mushrooms and a honey dijon balsamic vinaigrette along with some tomato and roasted red pepper soup. I ate hummus and crackers while I was prepping lunch and a piece of dark chocolate with sea salt after.

1:30 p.m. – dry hair and get dressed for the day

2-3 p.m. – everything from cleaning the kitchen to playing with Zoey to answering emails and more…

3-6 p.m. – trip to IKEA

ikeacinn

While there, I succumb to my first IKEA cinnamon roll and I’m not sorry. It was everything I dreamed it would be after smelling them for years…and more.

6 p.m. – home from IKEA and uncharacteristically exhausted. Lie down on the couch, close my eyes and doze for 20 minutes.

6:20 p.m. – wake up feeling a million times better (cinnamon roll hangover?)

6:45-9 p.m. – studio freelance marketing work…lots of follow ups from today’s management team meeting including website updates, design work, emails and more. I don’t usually work this late but since I spent the afternoon at IKEA and randomly had no evening commitments, it happened this way.

9 p.m. start dinner – this is way late even for me. And in all fairness, I had leftovers that I could have eaten but I just love to cook and had it in my mind that I was going to make stuffed peppers.

9:45 p.m. – stuffed peppers come out of the oven. Sauteed ground beef, sauteed onions, leftover brown rice, black beans, salsa, cilantro, cheese and chili powder and cumin for the filling.

Top the peppers with sour cream and guac and eat dinner while starting a new episode of Suits. I am OBSESSED with this show.

10:10 p.m. – edit photos and start this post.

10:40 p.m. – publish post. I’ll finish this episode of Suits and head to bed.

A good day! Night! 🙂

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a month since I ran the Every Woman’s Marathon! One of the fun things about this year’s race was getting to visit Scottsdale, Arizona. It was my first time in Arizona and while it was a quick trip, I tried to maximize my time there. Here’s a [...]

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

I am on a three-hour flight home from Scottsdale so it seems like the perfect time to relive and recap yesterday’s Every Woman’s Marathon experience. I had a great day and I’m very proud of the race that I ran. It was a practice in “fun running” and that not every race effort has to [...]
