I hope you all had a beautiful weekend. My weekend included two special events that were a lot of fun.
We stayed in on Friday night. I went for an evening run and then had a long overdue manicure. It had been months. I used to not really care about having my nails done but now that I spend my days training and teaching yoga and have people seeing my hands and feet all the time I try to be a little more diligent about it.
When I got home at 7:45 p.m. I had no interest in getting dressed to go out so I made a leftovers feast with all the food left in our fridge. I’m happy to report that we had ZERO food waste last week!
After dinner we rented McFarland USA on Netflix. It was a feel good movie and easy to watch…which is good for Friday nights.
On Saturday morning I got up and instead of hitting the farmers market or teaching yoga, I got ready for the Food Lion Frugal Cook-Off at the Southern Women’s Show.
I got invited to join a few other local bloggers to battle it out in the kitchen. More details (and a sweet giveaway) coming soon but I’ll give you a spoiler that my team won! 🙂
I headed to the studio after the cooking competition for lunch. I love the food in our cafe that much! This was the superflow wrap with hummus, avocado, cucumbers and chicken and a side salad. How gorgeous are those watermelon radishes?
On Saturday night I got all dressed up for an amazing art show at the studio. We partnered with Sozo Gallery to host Arthur Brouthers for a show themed around mantras. The cool thing about Arthur is that he is a yogi and part of his painting process is to meditate every day before he works. I enjoyed getting to know him through this event.
We got home around 11 to find a sick Zoey. It was terrible. I won’t go into details but a trip to the emergency vet was on the table. We decided to wait it out and she seems okay but we’ll most likely take her in Monday morning to be seen by her normal vet to make sure all is good.
I woke up starving on Sunday morning. While I love cooking Sunday brunch, our fridge was pretty bare. We went to Flying Biscuit and I had the Hollywood Omelet with egg whites, mushrooms, spinach, white cheddar and a tomato coulis along with grits and a biscuit. They make the best grits (and biscuits!) at Flying Biscuit.
The rest of my Sunday was taking yoga, walking Zoey, grocery shopping (haul post soon), cooking dinner and relaxing. It was good! 🙂
Last movie you watched?
Sunday brunch in or out and what was it?
