It seems like every blog post has been heavy on the moving talk but it’s taken over my life these last few weeks. For whatever reason I didn’t expect it to be this big of a deal but it’s been a steady stream of both work and emotions.
My weekend was a mix of moving and social stuff so here’s a look…
On Friday I bid a tearful farewell to my empty house. It was move-in day for my renters. I spent most of the day rushing around finishing up last minute errands to get it ready while also teaching three yoga classes and training a client.
By the time Friday evening rolled around, I needed some fresh air and a break. I took Zoey out for her first 5K and she totally rocked it.

And then I got dressed up and picked up a friend for The Track & Field Store’s grand opening party. I am SO EXCITED to partner with them as an ambassador this fall. Much more to come about this amazing brand and their beautiful, stylish and functional activewear. We are so lucky to have them in Charlotte!
I will be teaching a FREE yoga class at SouthPark Mall on Saturday, October 17 at 3 p.m. as part of the grand opening celebration. Check out the invite here and join me if you’re in the area!
After the party we went to Rooster’s where we sat at the bar and shared appetizers and life updates. It was just what I needed to get grounded after all of the moving stuff. And the food at Rooster’s never disappoints! We had beet homefries, Korean-style short ribs and sauteed spinach.
On Saturday morning I hoped to knock out my long run but rain forced me to stay inside and go to yoga instead. I made this acai bowl when I woke up and then took a 75 minute hot class before teaching my 11:15. Classes were packed thanks to the rain and the chill. It was a fun morning.
After class my fiance and I went to Whole Foods to grab lunch and some groceries. I deemed myself officially over the hot and salad bar. I wandered around for 15 minutes before ending up with this random box of spinach, quinoa, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, tofu, mushrooms, almonds, parmesan and dried cranberries. While I love shopping at Whole Foods, eating there just doesn’t excite me anymore the way their produce, cheese, seafood counter and nut butter selection does.
After shopping and a quick trip to Home Goods, I picked up this sweet girl to bring her to the new house for the first time. Happy to report she is adjusting with no problems other than the doggie door. The new house has a doggie door which is both fun and convenient. Sullie totally understands how it works and knows how to go in and out but she’s so well behaved and polite after 9.5 years of having to wait to be let in that she patiently sits at the back door instead of using the doggie door to come back in. It’s super cute.
On Saturday night I got dressed up again (I never take photos when this phenomenon actually happens…haha) for a birthday celebration at Tiki Hideaway. It was my first time at this spot and it was definitely different (and pricey!). They describe it as “tapas with a Polynesian twist and craft cocktails served amid tiki-themed decor with a vintage vibe.” I ordered these plantain chips to share with the table along with some pork lettuce wraps.
Knowing I had my long run the next day we were home and on the couch by 10:30 p.m. where I got sucked into a Disney movie that kept me up until 12:30 a.m. and deserves a post of its own.
Post long run brunch of omelet with spinach, asparagus, avocado and shitake mushrooms with grapes and sourdough toast with butter and fig preserves.
Much needed protein bar after teaching Total Strength at the Y. I taught another class at the studio at 4 p.m. and then we had a teacher meeting until 8 p.m. so I needed some fuel to get me through.
I mentioned to my fiance that I really wanted some ice cream after my long and physically active Sunday and he ran to the store while I was cooking dinner and came home with this.
And delivered me a scoop of each ice cream flavor and a piece of chocolate on the couch while I was writing last night’s Weekly Workout post. Keeper. 😉
We started watching the series How To Get Away with Murder last night. Anyone else watch it? We thought it was worth a shot since it’s produced by the same woman who does Grey’s and Scandal.
That’s a wrap! Off to our weekly management team meeting at the studio and then to teach. Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
Who enjoyed a weekend dessert?! What did you have?
