The 2015 Christmas Cookie Crusher Workout

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve!

Last year I shared a Christmas Cookie Crusher workout that ended up being a huge hit among my clients, friends and blog readers. Many of you have shared that you’ve used the workout all year long!

If life’s been looking a little like this lately…I’ve got a workout for you!

I train a small group of friends at 5:30 a.m. once a week. (They are the only 5:30 clients that I have kept in my effort to sleep more!) They were eagerly anticipating this year’s Christmas Cookie Crusher after last year’s extravaganza. I texted them late last night that we would meet outside at the top of a hill near the gym instead of on the treadmills. They ran a mile (I went along with) while trading a 12-lb wall ball off as they went. We went on a little tour of pretty Christmas lights down one of Charlotte’s most festive streets. You can find a short video of it on SnapChat! (follow me @jendecurtins)

Once we got back into the gym they did a team workout where one person pushed the sled, one rested and the other did sets of 25 reps of various exercises to end with 150 box jumps, 150 kettelbell swings, 150 single arm snatches, 150 sit ups and 150 wall balls. They rotated every 25 reps until they reached 150 (so it was twice through for each person).

I wanted to make the blog version of the Christmas Cookie Crusher a little more friendly for those working out solo and/or with minimal equipment since I know so many of you travel during the holidays or may have a hard time getting away to workout.

A total body workout to combat those Christmas cookies that features bodyweight exercises that can be done anywhere!

So here it is…your 2015 Christmas Cookie Crusher! I stuck with the 25 reps theme (you know, to go with the December 25 date) and alternated movements that would get your heart rate up with ab/active rest/strength type of movements so that you get all the cardio and strength that you need in one simple workout! One time through should do the trick for a short but effective workout but if you’re really feeling ambitious, you can always go for a second round!

Let me know if you have any questions and as always…I love hearing your feedback if you give it a try!

Happy cookie eating…and sweating! 🙂

xoxo,
Jen

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a month since I ran the Every Woman’s Marathon! One of the fun things about this year’s race was getting to visit Scottsdale, Arizona. It was my first time in Arizona and while it was a quick trip, I tried to maximize my time there. Here’s a [...]

In keeping with tradition, I’m coming in hot with a last-minute gift guide. As much as I’d like to think that one day I’ll be the kind of person who has their holiday shopping done before Black Friday…it’s just not a likely scenario. And I’m okay with that! I hope this list helps you finish [...]

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

Every Woman’s Marathon Scottsdale Recap (marathon #4!!!)

I am on a three-hour flight home from Scottsdale so it seems like the perfect time to relive and recap yesterday’s Every Woman’s Marathon experience. I had a great day and I’m very proud of the race that I ran. It was a practice in “fun running” and that not every race effort has to [...]
